Toka Leya is located approximately 10 kilometers northeast of Livingstone town in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Ground transfer from Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport (LIV) takes 30–40 minutes, or approximately 45 minutes to one hour from Livingstone town center. The camp can arrange direct airport pickups. Charter flights from other safari areas take 1–2 hours and land at nearby airstrips.
Peak season (June–October) offers the best game viewing with cooler temperatures and low rainfall, though rates are highest. Shoulder season (November–December) provides lower rates and excellent birdwatching. The green season (January–May) features lush landscapes and reduced crowds, but afternoon thunderstorms are common. White rhino tracking success is consistent year-round due to dedicated conservation management.
Toka Leya's location on the Zambezi River provides excellent viewing of elephant herds, hippos, Nile crocodiles, and diverse waterbirds. Land-based wildlife includes white rhino (tracked with government rangers), buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and seasonal predators. The camp specializes in white rhino tracking through its partnership with the Zambian Department of National Parks and Wildlife.
