Luxury Suite
Spacious canvas suite embedded amongst ancient ebony trees with views of the Zibadianja Lagoon. Features premium furnishings, king or twin bed configurations, and a signature surround-sound outdoor shower overlooking the lagoon where guests frequently observe elephants and buffalo. Private veranda provides panoramic lagoon and savannah vistas.
Zarafa Camp is accessed by charter flight from Maun International Airport, approximately 1 hour flying time. The camp is located within the private Selinda Reserve in the Linyanti region, about 50 kilometers northeast of Maun. Airport transfers are arranged through the camp and included in your booking package. Most guests fly into Johannesburg first, then connect to Maun on scheduled commercial flights.
The dry season from May to September offers the best wildlife viewing, with concentrated animals around water sources, cooler temperatures, and excellent photography conditions. However, Zarafa Camp operates year-round. The green season (November-March) features lush vegetation and exceptional bird watching with lower rates. Shoulder seasons (April, October) provide moderate temperatures and good wildlife viewing at moderate pricing.
Zarafa Camp operates on a full-board, all-inclusive basis. Your rate includes accommodation, all meals, selected alcoholic and soft drinks, all wildlife-viewing activities (twice-daily game drives, guided bush walks, night drives), laundry service, and airport transfers. Park fees, conservation levies, and premium beverages beyond the included selection are not included.
Yes, Zarafa Camp welcomes families. Children ages 8 and older are permitted on game drives, which is the primary safari activity. The camp offers educational wildlife experiences and flexible activity planning to accommodate family schedules. The intimate setting and personalized service allow the camp to tailor experiences to family needs. Advance notice of children's ages is recommended when booking.
Zarafa Camp offers regular Big Five sightings—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros—within its 130,000-hectare private concession. Additional wildlife includes giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, hyena, wild dog, and numerous antelope species. Over 400 bird species have been recorded in the Linyanti-Okavango region, making it exceptional for bird watching. The private concession ensures less crowding and more flexible wildlife viewing compared to national parks.
All activities are included in your full-board rate. The camp offers twice-daily game drives (early morning and late afternoon/evening, each lasting 3-4 hours), guided bush walks led by expert naturalists, night game drives using spotlight technology to observe nocturnal species, and lagoon-based wildlife observation. Photography guidance is available, and the vast private concession allows for completely flexible activity planning based on daily wildlife movements and guest interests.
Based on available information, Zarafa Camp does not offer Wi-Fi connectivity. The camp's remote location within a private wilderness concession means limited telecommunications infrastructure. This intentional separation from digital connectivity is part of the authentic safari experience. Guests seeking to maintain connectivity should plan accordingly or discuss options directly with the camp when booking.
Zarafa Camp is a premium luxury property with rates varying by season. Peak season (June-September) luxury suites range from $3,500-$3,920 per person per night sharing. Low season rates (April-May, October-November) range from $1,980-$2,630 per person per night. Shoulder seasons fall between these ranges. All rates are fully inclusive of accommodation, meals, drinks, activities, and transfers. Rates are per person based on two people sharing a suite.
Zarafa Camp operates under a tiered cancellation policy. Cancellations made 60 or more days prior to arrival are typically free. Cancellations made 30-59 days before arrival incur a 50% charge. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival may result in full charges. Specific cancellation terms should be confirmed at the time of booking, as policies may vary by season or booking conditions.
