Queen Elizabeth National Park

The best times are the dry seasons: June-July and December-February. During these months, animals congregate around water sources, providing excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Roads are more accessible, and weather is favorable. However, the park is visitable year-round, with wet seasons (March-May, August-November) offering lush scenery and great bird watching with fewer tourists.

A minimum of 3-4 days is recommended to experience the park adequately. This allows time for game drives, Kazinga Channel boat cruises, chimpanzee trekking, and cultural visits. Longer stays of 5-7 days enable exploration of multiple sectors including Ishasha (famous for tree-climbing lions) and Kalinzu Forest, plus adjacent attractions like Kibale National Park.

The park has well-maintained road networks connecting major attractions. Self-driving with a 4x4 vehicle is recommended, especially during rainy seasons.
