Armaye and Kumfir did everything to make my tour a wonderful and memorable experience and they succeeded. There was a lot of travelling involved and the standard of driving and care was exceptional. They realised that the most important thing for me was seeing the wildlife and they made sure we saw all that we could - they loved the animals too so I felt part of a team looking for all that we could find. The communication and information provided before the tour was really useful and there were no hidden extras. We've spent 2 weeks in Ethiopia visiting the Omo Valley tribes and hiking in the amazing Bale mountains. Armaye organised everything for us with a great and flexible service. We had the fortune to participate in a Bull Jumping ceremony at the Hammer Tribe and to see the rare Ethiopian wolves. Armaye tours were courteous, prompt, flexible and knowledgeable in their correspondence from the first contact. It was simple to put together the tour with their help They remained in touch until I arrived and was picked up from the airport. The tour team consisted of Awol, guide - who was respectful, caring, hugely knowledgeable about the area, the fauna and flora and Ethiopia. And his eagle eyes were superb pointing out so much as we walked along. A true diamond Idris our chef produced hot home cooked food throughout the tour and I remain amazed at what can be produced on a single burner!! Our porters were polite, cheerful, organised and so efficient. I was a single white older female and I never felt uncomfortable once Armaye is a well run, locally respectful tour company and I would recommend them without hesitation. You won't be disappointed

Highlight of our trip to East Africa

My partner and I flew down from Addis for a four day, three night tour of Bale Mountains National Park with Armaye in November 2022. It was truly beautiful - a highlight of our trip to East Africa - and I’d highly recommend it. The park is gorgeous and we saw several ecosystems and many different types of animals - so many birds, different monkeys, antelopes, warthogs, a mountain civet, many wolves, etc. We went around the park by car rather than trekking/camping, and this worked very well for us. We still had lots of time during the day to do different walks, and ended up seeing more of the park than would have been possible just on foot. We did walks and drives near Dinsho, on the Sanetti Plateau, and in and around Rira / the Harenna forest (including one night at the beautiful Harenna Cultural Lodge). Armaye and Mohammed, the driver he was working with, were both very kind and great company. Armaye knows a lot about the wildlife in the park and just generally is an easy-going person so it was a pleasure to spend a few days in his company. Everyone else we met (at the hotel, in Rira, etc.) was also very nice. In addition to the amazing wildlife, it was interesting to see a little bit of how people live there - for example horses are an important mode of transportation and families in the Harenna forest have many beehives high up in trees that they harvest once a year. Some notes: it was chilly at times, but we were fine with some layers - I wore a thermal wool layer, a fleece, and a rain jacket and was fine in November. I also wore regular sneakers - some waterproof shoes would have definitely been better but I survived and was able to dry them by the fire at night.

Great 5 day hike in Bale Mountains

Our 5 day hike in Bale mountains was great. Armaye and the team are kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. The terrain is beautiful and varied and overall was a a great experience. Would definitely recommend Armaye and this hike to anyone wanting nature.

We have spent 8 days in Ethiopia together with my wife and two of our daughters (9&6). Thanks to good organisation and complex offer that Armaye has presented to us we could focus on joy, culture, food and animalss. Everything went excellent ! Our younger daughter had her 6th birthday during this trip - Armaye has organized for us birthday cake - that was amazing gesture of flexibility from his side.

An amazing search for the Ethiopian wolf

Last week I went with Armaye to look for the Ethiopian wolf in Bale Mountains. It was a great trip through a beautiful and rugged landscape. Armaye had arranged everything fantastically: a beautiful route, good food, and, if you need it, all the camping gear. Armaye is clearly passionate about what he does. He knows a lot about all the animals in the park and loves being out there. It was a great pleasure to go on this trip with him and I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to go on a little adventure in Bale (or anywhere else in Ethiopia). And yes, we found the wolf!

A wonderful two week trip to Ethiopia

We had the Ethniopian Mammal Watching tour for 14 days; the initially 12-day program itself was adjusted and extended by two days. Armaye knows the nature of Ethiopia and its inhabitants very well. Since we were focused on locating and photographing animals, he fully supported us in this task and gave us great assistance in identifying those species with which we had questions. It was very interesting to discuss the animals of Ethiopia with him! It’s great that he implemented his area of interest and knowledge into his own business. All Armaye team members are friendly and responsible, you can absolutly trust them. The nature of Ethiopia is very different depending on the parts of the country and is very beautiful and even fantastic. We also got to know the local cuisine and its specialties. We will miss the time spent and the company of our new friends on this trip. But I think we will be back in the future! My husband and I wanted to experience Ethiopia and that is exactly what Armaye gave us. He was very responsive in the planning stages and answered all of our questions. He shared a lot of information with us during our trip to Bale National Park and we felt immersed in everything we did. On day 1 we did the mammal walk with what seemed to be an enchanted forest and Day 2 was walking in the mountain looking for the Ethiopian wolf and going up to Tulu Dimtu 4377ft.
