Luxury Suite
Spacious suite nestled among granite boulders featuring open design with king-size or twin bed configuration. Includes private deck overlooking Brandberg Mountain, en-suite bathroom with partial open-air design, and climate-cooling evening breeze system. Louvered shutters open completely to blur indoor-outdoor boundaries.
Onduli Ridge is accessed via Onduli Airstrip, a 20-minute drive from the lodge. Light aircraft transfers from Hosea Kutako International Airport near Windhoek take approximately 90 minutes. Overland transfers from Windhoek require 4-5 hours of driving through desert landscapes. The lodge provides complimentary airstrip transfers as part of the all-inclusive package.
The dry season from May to September offers the best wildlife viewing, with temperatures ranging from 8-22°C and animals concentrated around water sources. The wet season from November to March brings lush vegetation, migratory birds, and temperatures from 15-32°C. Shoulder months of April and October provide moderate temperatures and fewer visitors. Elephant sightings are most reliable during the dry season.
Yes, children of all ages are welcome at Onduli Ridge. The lodge offers family suites and reduced rates for children under 12. However, participation in elephant tracking and black rhino tracking activities may have age restrictions based on fitness and safety considerations. Bush walks can be tailored to family comfort levels.
Onduli Ridge's concession hosts desert-adapted elephants, black rhinos, giraffes, kudu, springbok, oryx, and various bird species including Damara Tern and Rüppell's Koree. The property does not guarantee Big Five viewing, as lions and buffalo are absent from the arid Damaraland ecosystem. Wildlife is specifically adapted to desert conditions and concentrated around river valleys.
The all-inclusive rate covers accommodation, all meals with premium and local beverages, laundry service, private butler service, elephant tracking, guided bush walks, Twyfelfontein visits, solar e-bike cycling, and airstrip transfers. Black rhino tracking is included only on stays of three nights or longer. Night drives are offered seasonally.
Onduli Ridge provides WiFi throughout the property for guest use. Mobile network coverage is available but may be limited due to the remote desert location. Guests should not rely on continuous connectivity and may prefer the wilderness experience without constant digital connection.
Onduli Ridge operates on 100% solar power, eliminating diesel fuel consumption. The lodge implements rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, minimal waste generation, and maintains unfenced wildlife habitat. Concession fees directly fund conservation management and anti-poaching initiatives. The property contributes to community development and participates in elephant and rhino monitoring programs.
Cancellations are subject to a 50% handling fee minimum. Cancellations 61-90 days before arrival incur 75% of the total booking value. SADC (Southern African Development Community) rates are available upon request.
Onduli Ridge rates start from approximately US$702 per person per night on a full-board basis, placing it in the premium luxury category. Rates vary by season and occupy range. The all-inclusive package covers accommodation, all meals, beverages, laundry, activities, and airstrip transfers, with black rhino tracking included on stays of three nights or longer.
