Moremi Walking Safari Packages 2027: Prices & Permits

Last updated: October 2026

One four-night Okavango Delta safari reaches USD 6,887 per person in June through October 2027, while its December rate falls to USD 4,627.

Moremi walking safari packages in 2027 cost about USD 4,135 to USD 8,995 per person, based on listed Okavango and Moremi itineraries. June through October is the strongest game-viewing period, while November and December can bring lower listed rates. Moremi park fees are estimated at under USD 20 per day, but a full official permit schedule is not provided in the available listings.

Introduction to Moremi walking safari packages in 2027

Moremi Walking Safari Packages 2027: Prices and Permits is a planning guide for travelers comparing a walking-focused trip in northern Botswana. The available prices show a wide spread. A six-day Okavango Delta fly-in safari is listed at USD 4,135 per person, while longer or more inclusive trips reach USD 8,995.

Moremi Game Reserve sits within the Okavango region, where walking activities often form part of a wider safari. A package may combine time on foot with 4x4 drives, mokoro excursions, night drives, and flights. That mix matters because a walking safari is rarely priced as a simple walking-only product.

Known for: Moremi is known in these listings for Okavango access, Xaxaba Concession activities, mokoro trips, and game drives. Best for: travelers who want close-range bush experiences but still want the reach of a fly-in safari.

This guide separates the package price from the park fee question. It also explains what the listed rates include, how dates affect cost, and what to check before paying a deposit. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators, package details, and authentic reviews, so you can compare the trip itself rather than chase a headline rate.

Quick answer: A Moremi walking safari in 2027 costs about USD 4,135 to USD 8,995 per person on listed examples. June through October is the main dry-season window for game viewing. Allow a separate park-fee budget, since the available comparison places Moremi fees below USD 20 per day but does not provide a full official permit schedule.

What are Moremi walking safari packages in 2027?

Moremi walking safari packages in 2027 are multi-day trips that combine guided walking with other Okavango activities. Listed programs include 4x4 game drives, mokoro excursions, night drives, and walking activities. The four-night Value Safari also names the Xaxaba Concession as a destination. This makes the package broader than a single trail or day walk.

What the packages include

The four-night Okavango Delta Value Safari gives the clearest activity list. It includes 4x4 game drives, mokoro excursions, night drives, and walking activities. Each activity offers a different way to read the bush. A vehicle covers more ground. A mokoro follows the water. Walking slows the experience down.

Xaxaba Concession is included as a listed destination on that four-night itinerary. The concession name matters when comparing packages, because two trips may both use the words “Okavango safari” while visiting different areas. Ask which concession, reserve, or camp appears in your booking documents.

Moremi walking safari packages also differ in length. The available examples include four nights, six days, and 11 nights. A longer trip may cover more than Moremi alone. The Northern Wings itinerary, for example, visits Moremi Game Reserve, Mababe River Private Reserve, Savuti, Chobe River, and Chobe National Park.

Why a walking safari costs more than a basic park visit

Fly-in access, specialist guiding, camp stays, activities, and park fees all shape the final price. The available listings do not break every cost into a separate line. Therefore, treat the package rate as the best starting figure, then confirm flights, transfers, meals, drinks, permits, and activities.

Walking also needs careful planning. Guides must choose routes that suit the area, season, and wildlife conditions. A walking activity may last part of a day rather than replace every vehicle outing. That is why you should read the activity schedule before assuming a package offers several full days on foot.

How much do Moremi walking safari packages cost?

Moremi walking safari packages cost about USD 4,135 to USD 8,995 per person in the listed 2027 examples. A six-day fly-in trip starts at USD 4,135 per person, while a four-night Value Safari reaches USD 6,887 in June through October. Longer combination safaris sit higher in the comparison range.

2027 package price comparison

Prices in the table come from the listed 2027 and 2026/2027 safari pages. The packages are not identical, so the lowest price is not always the best value. A six-day fly-in trip and an 11-night multi-area route serve different travel plans.

How month changes the price

The four-night Value Safari lists USD 6,887 for June through October 2027. It lists USD 5,587 for November and USD 4,627 for December. That is a USD 2,260 difference between the highest and lowest listed monthly rate.

June through October is also the main dry-season period for northern Botswana game viewing. Wildlife gathers near permanent water during that season, according to the Moremi safari guidance. You pay more in the example, but you also travel during the season many wildlife-focused visitors prefer.

November and December offer lower rates on this specific package. However, a lower listed price does not guarantee lower total trip cost. Flights, transfers, travel insurance, and any separate permit or park fee still need confirmation.

What the Moremi permit price means

The available cost comparison estimates Moremi park fees at under USD 20 per day. This is a useful budget marker, not a complete official permit schedule. The available material does not give a definitive Moremi permit fee table for every visitor type, vehicle, activity, or concession.

Ask the operator whether the quoted price includes park entry, concession fees, walking activity fees, guide costs, and transfers. Request the answer in writing. That small step can prevent a cheap-looking package from growing after you book.

Request a quote from verified safari operators for your Moremi budget and ask for a full cost breakdown, including park fees and walking activities.

What permits and practical details should you check?

Moremi permits and park fees need written confirmation before payment because the available 2027 package listings do not publish one complete official fee schedule. A comparison source places Moremi park fees below USD 20 per day. Use that figure for early planning, then ask your operator to confirm the exact amount included in your booking.

Questions to ask before booking

A walking safari has more moving parts than a standard lodge stay. Send the operator a short list of direct questions. Clear answers show whether the quoted price covers the experience you want.

• Is Moremi park entry included in the advertised price?
• Are concession fees included for the walking area?
• How many walking activities are scheduled?
• Are the 4x4 drives, mokoro trips, and night drives included?
• Does the rate include flights from Maun or another arrival point?
• Are transfers between camps included?
• Which camp or concession hosts the walking activities?
• What happens if water levels or wildlife conditions change the route?

Choosing the right duration

A four-night itinerary suits travelers who want a short Okavango stay with several activities. The Value Safari includes walking alongside drives, mokoro trips, and night drives. It is a good format for visitors who want variety but do not want an 11-night route.

A six-day fly-in trip gives you more time in the delta than a short stay. The listed price is USD 4,135 per person. The page names Moremi Crossings and says walking safaris are possible, so confirm how much walking the final itinerary contains.

The 11-night Northern Wings itinerary suits travelers who want a wider northern Botswana route. It runs from 13 to 24 November 2027 and costs from USD 5,945. The route includes Moremi, Mababe River Private Reserve, Savuti, Chobe River, and Chobe National Park.

What to pack for walking

Pack light, closed walking shoes, neutral clothing, a hat, sunscreen, water, and a small day bag. Keep camera gear easy to carry. Walking makes weight noticeable, especially when the guide stops and starts along a route.

Follow the guide’s instructions at all times. Stay with the group, keep quiet near wildlife, and ask before moving away from the trail or vehicle. The point of a walking safari is close observation, not getting as close as possible.

When to travel

June through October is the clearest choice for travelers who value dry-season game viewing. Northern Botswana guidance says wildlife gathers at permanent water during these months. The four-night Value Safari also lists its highest 2027 rates during July through October.

November and December may suit travelers who want the lower listed Value Safari rates. November also matches the Northern Wings departure date of 13 November 2027. Before booking, compare the activity plan, weather expectations, and price rather than choosing a month by rate alone.

SafariFind lets you compare Botswana safari packages, read authentic reviews, and check operator information in one place. Use the catalog to compare a walking-focused trip with a wider Okavango route.

How do you start planning a Moremi walking safari?

Start by choosing your trip length, walking focus, and budget. Then compare the included activities and permit terms. A clear plan helps you judge whether a USD 4,135 fly-in safari, a USD 6,887 peak-season Value Safari, or a USD 5,945 multi-area itinerary fits your needs.

Step one: choose the trip style

Choose a short Value Safari if you want four nights and a mix of activities. Choose a six-day fly-in option if you want more delta time at a lower listed starting price. Choose Northern Wings if you want 11 nights across several northern Botswana areas.

These options are not direct substitutes. The four-night trip lists Xaxaba Concession. The six-day trip lists Moremi Crossings and possible walking. Northern Wings adds Mababe, Savuti, Chobe River, and Chobe National Park.

Step two: compare the full quote

Ask for one document that lists accommodation, meals, activities, flights, transfers, park entry, concession costs, and taxes. Compare the same items across operators. A lower headline price can hide costs that another operator already includes.

Keep the quoted 2027 rate with your booking papers. Prices can be tied to a month, room type, or number of travelers. The Value Safari shows why dates matter, with rates from USD 4,627 in December to USD 6,887 in July through October.

Step three: check operator evidence

Read reviews that describe guides, transfers, camp service, and communication. Look for details about walking activities rather than broad praise. SafariFind connects travelers with verified tour operators and authentic reviews, which gives you more useful information before you pay.

Ask how the operator handles changes. Water levels, wildlife movement, weather, or park rules can affect a walking route. A strong quote explains what happens if the planned activity changes.

Step four: protect the booking

Check the cancellation terms, payment schedule, travel insurance needs, and arrival plan. Confirm where the safari starts and how you reach the first camp. Fly-in trips often need careful timing, especially when an international flight connects to a local transfer.

Write down the name of each concession and reserve. The Northern Wings route covers five named areas beyond its starting point. A written route makes it easier to compare the trip with another Botswana itinerary.

Conclusion

Moremi walking safari packages in 2027 cost about USD 4,135 to USD 8,995 per person in the listed examples. The best fit depends on your walking goals, trip length, and appetite for a wider Botswana route. The USD 4,135 six-day fly-in option suits a shorter Okavango stay. The four-night Value Safari offers walking, mokoro trips, night drives, and 4x4 drives, with rates reaching USD 6,887 during the main dry-season months.

Plan for a separate Moremi fee check. The early estimate of under USD 20 per day helps build a budget, but your operator should confirm the exact permit and park-entry costs. Ask for every inclusion in writing.

Compare verified Moremi walking safari packages on SafariFind, read authentic traveler reviews, and request a quote that lists walking activities and permit costs. SafariFind gives you a practical way to compare 2027 options before availability tightens.
