Dry-season evenings are often the easiest for outdoor fires because rain is less likely, but the best time depends on the destination, camp schedule and local weather. In southern Africa, April to September commonly brings cooler, drier nights. Always check the forecast and follow the camp's decision if wind, rain or wildlife activity makes a fire unsafe.
