Best time
The best month depends on the river. The Blue Nile is often recommended from October to February. East African rafting areas can have rainy seasons around March to May and September to November, when river levels, flooding and road access may change.
Typical duration
Half-day rafting trips commonly last four to six hours. Full-day trips occupy most of the day, while multi-day expeditions can last from one or two nights to more than a week.
