I booked the one day Safari less than 24 h before and immediately all was organized for me to make my journey the most wonderful I had in Tanzania I thank everyone one : the manager, the drivers, and a special thanks for Junior the guide how took pride of showing me the best of Mikumi National Park. Brilliant experience, would recommend everyone

My girlfriend and I had an amazing trip and unforgettable experience with Kihinido Tours and Safaris for a reasonable price. First I came in touch with Winnie, who answered me every question immediately. I felt free to ask everything, even if the question seemed dumb. She was very polite and professional, and the booking process was very easy and fast. Then she also considered our wishes, like additional breakfast and the pick-up place. Then the actual trip started, and Michael picked us up from our hotel in Dar es Salaam. He was on point and very polite even if it was 4 am in the morning. We had a very pleasant 4-hour ride to the Mloka Safari lodge and a very nice talk with Michael. His English is very fluent, and he is also a smart person one can have interesting conversations with. The Mloka Safari lodge was not very special or luxurious, but the staff was very polite and the food was also very delicious. After that we went on a full-day (9 am - 6.30 pm) game drive in Nyerere National Park with Michael and Tiko. For us the day was unforgettable; besides very nice and unique landscapes, we saw giraffes, lions, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, and much more. Michael and Tiko also told us very much about the animals, which was very interesting. Their passion for what they were doing was contagious. We also learned much about their lives and Tanzania in general and told them things about Germany. We felt very safe all the time, and the two were trying their best to show us much. This game drive surpassed our expectations. On the next day we had a boat drive in the morning in the Rufiji River, which lasted 2 hours. Luckily the boat was covered with a roof so the strong rain was bearable. We enjoyed this experience, where we saw hippos, crocodiles, and monkeys because of the unique landscape, but would not do it a second time. I would recommend talking to Kihinido Tours and adding an additional game drive in the morning instead of the boat drive, which I assume would be possible because of the flexibility of this company. Ultimately the ride back was also very pleasant, and we talked for hours with Michael. He brought us to the airport in Dar es Salaam, and we arrived on time for our flight. To come to an end, I would really recommend this company for a safari because our experience was perfect. Every person we were involved with (especially Michael) was very polite and professional. We also would really recommend doing a two-day (or longer) trip instead of a one-day trip like people who are staying in Zanzibar like to do. We also stayed actually in Zanzibar but came to Dar es Salaam for the safari and spent three very nice days on the mainland, which was the highlight of our vacation. I recommend everybody choose this company for a safari experience, and especially the people we were in touch with. Thank you for everything.

Great experience! We were a group of three from Finland and visited Mikumi for a 1-night, 2-day safari at the beginning of December. Everything was well-organized and went smoothly, from communication and pickups to activities. The accommodation and food were of high quality. Price was very reasonble. We highly recommend Kihindo Tours & Safaris if you’re planning a safari! Our safari guide - Michael was really good, he had amazing positive energy and was very knowledgeable about Mikumi and the animals there. He was very dedicated to making sure that we would get the most out of our experience in Mikumi, whether that was seeing as many of the animals there as possible or giving us tidbits of information about various things regarding the national park. We were very glad that he was our guide for this safari. On the 2nd day we went on a bushwalk with a local Maasai guide, where we learned more about the plants and birds of the area before visiting a Maasai tribe to learn more about their way of life. It was a very enjoyable experience. The timing (beginning of December) was perfect, with slightly cloudy weather that wasn’t unbearably hot, and it wasn’t peak tourist season. Mikumi is a great choice if you’re planning a short safari, as the area is smaller compared to the Serengeti, making it possible to see a variety of animals in a short amount of time. It was an exciting experience. The organization was perfect, from transportation to accommodations to meals. They were always available and quick to respond. The guides, both on the car safari and the walking safari, were very knowledgeable, and listening to them was very interesting.

More than I wished for :)

Unfortunately I can’t give more than 5 stars. We were traveling in a group of four and decided to start right away with our 3-day Safari. Plenty of small and tall wildlife was actually more than what I ve expected. Our very friendly and supportive guide Franki was the soul of our Safari. With his profound knowledge about wildlife and a good sense of humor he made the whole experience very special and made sure that we saw lions on each single day, especially at the last drive to the Mikumi airport, where we were already waiting, he told us to jump immediately back in the car to drive another 2 min where we actually saw lions passing by only 10 inch in front of our car!! I absolutely recommend Kihindo Tours & Safari, and especially our guide Franki!!! Asante sana kwa kila jambo, tuonane tena kaka!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a 3 days / 2 nights safari trip, and everything was organised perfectly from start to finish. The trip from Zanzibar to the mainland was very well arranged: on-time pickup from the hotel, smooth transfer to the ferry and train, and great support during all connections between the ferry and train. The transfer to the lodge was also very comfortable. The lodge, located in the middle of the forest, was beautiful, authentic, and very comfortable. Lunch, dinner, and breakfast were excellent, with fantastic views from the hills. The safari itself was amazing. We managed to see all the main animals, and our guide was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He shared a lot of interesting information, which made the experience even more special. We are very happy that we chose Kihindo Tours and would definitely recommend them!

You really get the full safari experience in a solid kit. The communication with the staff was sound, the cooking was pretty good, but above all was the safari guiding. The guide was really professional and charming. All in all, highly reccommended

The Best and Highly recommended

To the best Safari Tour In Tanzania. I had an amazing experience from coordination of Winnie and to my guides in the Safari. My guide Saloniki is the best always greet and responds with “Hakuna Matata” and a smile. Very knowlegeable and friendly along with our driver at the Safari Jackson. I highly recommend this tour. You will see all the animals you want and just tell them. The buffet was also great.

More than perfect!

We did the „4-Day 3 Nights Budget Safari to Mikumi and Ruaha NP by Train“ From the very first contact on Kihindo Tours won us over with their friendly, detailed and clear communication, which remained like that during the whole journey. We had some small wishes beforehand and although we just booked the day before, Pilly could work out everything at its best. From receiving Train Tickets, all the pick ups and drivers, everything was just perfectly arranged. The Safari Trip itself turnt out better then we could have ever expected. First of all our Guide Davis is an amazing, knowledgable, fun and professional guide with 20yrs experience. He knows what he does at any time, always while respecting nature and his human surroundings. Davis loves his job and that shows! We couldn't be happier having you as our guide! Also the camps we stayed in were according to our price level perfectly fine and we felt safe at any time. Every meal inside the national parks was arranged and included - and also very good, water was available throughout the whole day. All in all it was a more than perfect experience and I wholeheartedly recommend Kihindo tours (and Davis) to everyone!

An excellent-organized 3 days tour at Mikumi park for a great safari

The overall experience was just awesome. Kihindo tours organised everything from the very beginning until the end of our tour. Mikumi park was also great, we saw all of the possible animals (elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, buffaloes, impalas, etc) and all of them very close to us. I have no negatives to add. The only thing I would avoid next time would be the maasai village which is very touristic. All in all, I truly recommend Kihindo Tours. P.s.1: Thanks Isaiah for the nice transfer to Mikumi park and all the interesting information he gave us. P.s.2: Thanks Danford the Legolas of the safari for the nice game driving. He could see animals within 5kms and get you there in a few minutes.

Very well organised and extremely enjoyable tour!

First of all, the tour was extremely well organised. The second I was picked up from my hotel, I didn’t have to worry. My guide, Saloniki, took care of me the whole day! He got me as close as possible to all the animals, lions, zebras, giraffes, etc, and told me lots of interesting facts I didn’t know! Got some great photos and had a fabulous day! Big shout out to Saloniki and the Kihindo Tours team!

Horrible, be careful, it doesn't deliver the service you pay for.

Be careful, they don't provide the services you pay for. The conditions we paid for were not what they offered us once we were there. The water service, supposedly free, was a lie; they made us pay for it after the experience was over. The vehicle for the safari was completely different from the one you see in the pictures before we paid for the safari (the condition of the vehicle left much to be desired, and the one we booked was closed on the sides and open on top, and at no point did they provide us with what we paid for). You pay for a guide, and in our case, he didn't speak to us at all during the entire trip, nor did he offer us water all day (when, in theory, you're paying for a guide and for water during the trip). The only time he spoke to us more fluently was at the end of the safari to tell us his name and show us a QR code to rate him, in an aggressive way, as if we absolutely had to give him a good rating. On our first day visiting the Maasai village, we waited for over an hour, and when we finally arrived, they didn't even apologize. The food service was very poor; when we arrived for lunch, we were given a sandwich... They always under-served us. And they offered no solution. We want to claim a refund, but they haven't responded to any of our messages. We will not recommend Kihindo Tours to anyone we know.

Experience of a lifetime!

Our safari experience — 4 day/3 night in Mizumi NP + Udzungwa NP + Masai Village — far exceeded our expectations! The service and organization was above and beyond every step of the way. From making arrangements with Winnie, our tour guide, Isaya and his team, to the activities, food and accommodations. It was so much fun and we saw more animals than we ever expected. We appreciated the youthful, fun, positive energy and extensive knowledge of everyone on team Kihindo. You will, no doubt, have the experience of a lifetime with Kihindo!!
