Amazing experience, once in a lifetime

Saloniki was our safari guide and he was excellent. He explained to us a lot about the local animals and he did his best to let us see as many animals as possible, in fact we managed to see liones, zebras, giraffes and also a group of elephants crossing the road right in front of us! It was an incredible and unforgettable experience thanks to Saloniki!

It will be difficult to find the right words to describe the service offered by Kihindo Tours and Safari. Before leaving we got in touch with Winnie, the organization manager, who was simply fantastic about everything! She helped us solve some problems that were beyond their control, she helped us organize the Safari, she came to pick us up at the airport, she took care of getting us a refund (unexpected) from the airline since we had changed our plans back, and there are no words to describe how flawless everything was. Rating 10+ Once we arrived in Mikumi we were lucky enough to meet Michael, our guide. We immediately perceived his passion for his work, the welcome was super. The first day we went to learn about the Masai culture, while the second was dedicated entirely to the safari. Michael knows every type of animal, he told us everything about them, everything was explained with sweetness and passion. He was available for any request, always with a smile! He made us live the real safari experience by taking us to as many places as possible in the park looking for animals everywhere, making us feel safe. A good soul and a true professional. Very fun, extremely friendly & helpful.

This tour went way above our expectations. Everything was perfect, from the pickup and ride to the park, all the way to leaving with such irreplaceable memories thanks to our extremely professional and friendly guide & driver. Big thank you to Owen & Godbless. These guys were the main reason everything went so fun and smooth. On our private tour we saw elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, crocodiles, hogs, impalas, baboons, a lion and a lot of buffalos. Worth every penny, definitely coming back again. 10/10 🌟

What a wonderful time we had with Kihindo Tours

From the moment we first contacted Kihindo Tours and Safaris it felt right. Winnie's replies were fast, polite and informative, whatever we wanted she was happy to provide, adding a tour of Dar es Salaam to the end of our safari as we had time to spare before our early morning flight. We spent three days and two nights in Nyerere National Park with our guide Saloniki and driver William. When they collected us from our hotel they were polite and welcoming, we immediately felt at home with them and knew that we would be well taken care of nothing we asked of them was too much trouble. To anyone considering a safari with Kihindo I would highly recommend Saloniki and William, you will be well taken care of and they are a credit to the company.

Fantastic 2 day Nyerere safari

As a solo traveler I was a bit nervous that there would not be options available to me (especially at a reasonable price) but huge shoutout to Winnie who held my hand through the process including when some flight issues meant I had to shorten from 3 days to 2. Isaya was an amazing guide as others have noted and we made the most of the shortened time. Would note that drive to Nyerere from Dar was only around 4 hours each way as I saw some sources mentioning a much longer transit time. The road isn’t great but wasn’t as bad as I had feared.

fantastic customer service, unforgettable experience

I booked last minute (9pm the night before) for a one-day trip to Mikumi National Park from Dar es Salaam. Firstly, the experience was incredible - more animals per hour than any national park I've been to - baby elephants, baby giraffes, a lioness and cubs hiding away (but we saw them!) and a lion that walked alongside the jeep. Absolutely brilliant. Secondly, the customer service was exceptional - Winnie from the team was so responsive, booking everything even though it was late and pick up was 5am, and I had a private guide and driver in the park. Connections and transport was seamless, from hotel pick-up to train station, train, pick up and drive to the park, and back again. Flawless. Shout out to Winnie, drivers Adam, Isaya and Ibrahim, and safari guide Saloniki.

Unforgettable experience

Isaya and his team truly made our trip! They were extremely helpful and always ensured we had everything we need- plenty of water, great stories to keep it fun and educating, some music to pump us up, etc. They kept us entertained and had fun with us but never for a second stopped working or looking for the best experiences (being in contact with co-workers so we can see all the animals that live in the national park). The hotel we stayed in - was also spectacular! Overall - an unforgettable experience!

Well, I want to thank Kihindo Tours and Safari for making our experience Amazing ; my husband and I. I'll start with Winnie the most kind, she was always a good listener and helpful to organize our trip as we wish and she answered whenever we sent her on WhatsApp. Then our Guide Issaya is the best guide, he speaks English very well and explain everything about Safari and animals besides that he's so funny, he made the trip special, and there's also Goody and not Gody haha the best driver and the craziest haha.

The assessment of this safari is very positive. First of all, because the hotels have been very good and the food very good. As for the safaris, they have been very interesting (choosing Nyere and Mikumi allows you to see two different landscapes and different animals). In addition, we enjoyed the river excursion and the morning excursion was very good. The visit to the tribe was very interesting. But the most important thing has been our guide, Michael, a very patient person and always with a smile. He has explained everything to us about the animals on the safari, the villages and the culture of Tanzania. Always attentive to us and caring about us. In addition, he is a great driver, you can tell that he has been doing this for years. And he loves his job, and he has transmitted this to us. The BEST Safari Experience!

We had a great experience with Kihnido tours. It was so easy to book with them, they were very responsive through email and prompt/efficient on the pickup. The price was also very fair for the amount of travel/food/drink/accomodation/attentiveness and working hours the guide & staff puts in. We had Michael as our guide, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better one! He was the amazing in every way. He was so attentive to our needs, incredibly friendly, funny and massively knowledgeable about all of the wildlife. He went above and beyond to make sure we seen every animal we wanted to see, told us so much information about everything we seen and we had the best safari trip with him. We also learnt so much from him about the Tanzanian life/people whilst on the drive to & from the park, which was so interesting. You can really see he loves his job and meeting new people, which makes it so special for us tourists. Thank you so much again Michael!

The best safari guides imaginable

Our safari was really well organized, they adjusted our tour and fulfilled all our wishes, even changing some plans spontaneously when we asked for a change. We had two guides (the owner Isahya and Saloniki, a friend/coworker of him), they were laughing and talking a lot with us and with each other. They explained everything and answered every question. We had a really great time with both of them and the safari itself was really well organized. We saw all the animals we wished for, even two leopards. The boat trip was really special aswell. The accommodation and food was amazing and really clean and comfortable. They took really good care of us, even helping us after the safari trip to get through the country by bus and even organized a hotel for us in Songea. We called Isahya whenever we had a problem and he helped us right away, 24/7. All in all, it was the best safari experience, with an amazing cost-value ratio!

Informative, caring and kind

We really loved the day trip to Mikumi National Park!❤️☀️ The tour operator Winfrida gave us all the information couple days before the trip which helped a lot. During and after the trip, she asked how we are doing and did we get home safe, so kind! In the morning 4:50AM our driver Eddie picked and drove us to the train station in Dar. Adam was waiting us in Morogoro and drove us to the Mikumi National Park, where our tour guide Jackson was waiting. We got to see a lot of different animals during the day: buffalos, elephants, giraffes, hippopotamus, lions, antelopes, zebras, monkeys, many birds etc. Jackson told us a lot of facts about the animals, their environment and about Mikumi National Park itself. He was super nice and funny to spend the day with! We ate buffet lunch and took some pictures with the tree of life. In the afternoon Jackson brought us back to Adam. On the way to the train station, he wanted to show us a local woodworking and painting shop to buy some souvenirs. After that we started heading back to Dar where Eddie brought us back home. Thank you all so much for an unforgettable day! ❤️

An unforgettable excursion. We (2 adults and a 10 year old child from Austria) were picked up early in the morning on the first day by our driver Isaya. The car was very comfortable and everything was well organised. Isaya was very nice and provided us with information on the 5 hour drive to Mikumi National Park. It was a great journey and we heard and saw a lot about the country and its people. We had lunch in a restaurant. This was also included and the food was delicious. We arrived at Camp Bastian around 2pm. The camp was beautiful and also had a great pool, which our daughter was very happy about. At around 4 pm we drove to the Maasai village. The Maasai danced and there was a guided tour of the whole village. Our Maasai Saloniki explained everything to us and it was super informative. At 6pm we drove back to camp and had dinner. The food was buffet style and very tasty. Our room was huge. It was clean and the bathroom was huge. The next day we left very early after breakfast for the national park. We had a huge open jeep for the three of us alone. We had two guides with us. Saloniki and Jackson. Both were great and were very keen to tell us everything about the animals and that we would see lots of them. They read the tracks and followed them. That day we were the only ones in the park to see the lions because our guides were so attentive. We had lunch in the park. This was also in buffet form and was again very tasty. Our tour of the park didn't end until 6.30am and we saw so many animals and learnt so much. The next day we travelled back to Dar es Salaam with our driver Isaya. It was another great journey and we then had lunch in Dar es Salaam itself. We had no additional costs apart from tips (which everyone really earned) or souvenirs. I can really recommend this tour with Kihindo Tours and Safari to everyone. There was nothing to complain about. I organised the organsition myself through Winnie from Kihindo tour. She was super quick to respond and answered all my questions. Great organisation and great people.

In a word great, a fantastic tour operator

The 2 -day safari was fantastic. Seen so much nature and lots of wild animals. It was all super well arranged, neatly picked up at the agreed time at our hotel in Dar El Salaam. Then one of the people of Kihindo Tour and Safari neatly dropped off at the train to Morogoro, starting with our 2 -day safari. Arriving in Morogoro we were picked up by Isaya, our guide for the upcoming 2 days and also owner of Kihindo Tour and Safari. From Morogoro we were immediately driven to Mikumbi National Park, to start with our Safari Tour. Mikumbi National Park is a very beautiful piece of unspoilt nature, full of all kinds of wild animals. We came across everything on our first day, from monkeys to of course one of the most beautiful animals of the Safari, the Lion. In the afternoon enjoyed a delicious lunch and being able to eat in the evening in Kamp Bastiaan. Early the next morning on the road to see even more beautiful things such as the beautiful sunrise. Until lunch had a fantastic safari again. In which all kinds of wild animals have seen again, antelopes, wild beasts, giraffes, elephants, crocodiles and of course the lions again. After lunch being able to relax in Camp Bastiaan and then to the Masai to get a tour of their village there. And what was also very pleasant, we had not yet arranged the way back to Zanzibar from the train station. Isaya has all arranged this neatly for us, tickets for the ferry and a taxi to bring us back to our accommodations. All in all, this Safari is highly recommended.

Wonderful tour with well informed and helpful tour guide.

Tour was smooth from start to finish. All staff were welcoming, polite and informative. Saloniki was fantastic and ensured we found all the animals and gave us enough time to get the photos we wanted. He was very educated on the animals.

Exceeded every possible expectation

From the moment we wanted to book the safari, the Kihindo team were very helpful answering all our questions and making us feel assured about the decision. They picked us up from Dar es Salaam airport and as we were running a little late to catch the train, they did everything possible to make sure we get on the train. Every member of staff was very friendly and helpful. But once we reached the actual safari it went to the other level. Our guide Saloniki created very comfortable environment and made sure we were on the same page, about what’s going to happen, from the beginning. As we read before that November isn’t the number one month to see all the animals, we had acknowledged that it may happen that we won’t be able to see all animals we would like. But Saloniki made that happen. He took us exactly to the animals we had wished to see for - lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos and all the antelopes, buffaloes. Throughout the safari he always did like we had asked and took our wishes into account. Once we arrived to our accommodation, the Camp Lilac, the staff welcomed us with arms wide open, singing and dancing to us. And the cabin is nice and the dinner is pretty romantic ;) In conclusion the Kihindo team have exceeded our expectations and made this trip incredible. The biggest value we’d say are the people we’ve met during the safari. Thank you Saloniki and all the Kihindo team for the effort! We would 100% all heartedly recommend everyone to book a safari with them.
