Isaya of Kihindo Safaris was my tour guide on two amazing safaris over the last two weeks: the first a three-day safari at Nyerere National Park/Salous with work colleagues, and the second a three-day safari at Mikumi National Park with my family. All of my pre-safari dealings with Kihindo Safaris were incredible: from the moment I inquired about different tour options, Kihindo’s responses were prompt and clear. This made coordination easy as I was traveling on a complicated work trip with a lot of logistics. Isaya made things straightforward but was also flexible to accommodate changes and questions about different options for tours and payment. As for the tours themselves, they exceeded all expectations. Isaya is a talented tour guide - he knows both parks very well and we saw such a wide variety of animals at different locations and at different times of day when we visited. He was knowledgeable about the parks and their many inhabitants and was often “first on the scene” at a given location to see an exciting animal. He added interesting cultural add-ons to each safari - at Selous, a walking safari with a bushman, and at Mikumi, a visit to a Maasai village. Isaya kept us on task and schedule which we appreciated. The accommodations were also excellent, convenient and exceeded our expectations. As Kihindo is a small business, I was pleased to support them rather than a larger tour group company where the tour guides are subcontractors or staff. Kihindo Safaris is a highly entrepreneurial business and I know I received a high value for the services rendered. I will recommend Kihindo Safaris without hesitation to those taking safari trips at parks throughout Tanzania.

We had a 2-days safari with Saloniki and Nuhu, great guides and excellent guys. We are been particularly lucky and we sow a lot of wild animals (probably it's enough to talk about 18 lions in 2 days...). The organization was perfect. My compliments!

If you’re hesitating to book a safari tour, don’t!
We’ve had an incredible experience with Kihindo from start to finish. Within the hour of submitting a request for a quote, Winnie sent us an itinerary. She was helpful and quick to respond, and made booking onto the tour a breeze. We were picked up in Dar es Salaam by Adam, who is very conscientious and friendly. The journey to Mikumi and back was very smooth thanks to him. We’re so glad to have had Saloniki as our safari guide. He knows so much and is happy to share facts and answer questions. He’s got eagle eyes and would spot animals at incredible distances. We would’ve been happy seeing an animal or two, but ended up seeing elephants, baboons, monkeys, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, buffaloes, lions feasting, a lioness and two cubs, pumbas, impalas, and much more. Saloniki was so quick to get us in and always tried his utmost best to provide us with an exceptional experience. He took photos for us and always asked if we were happy with where to go next, though we were happy to trust his expertise. Overall, Saloniki really made this experience unforgettable with his patience and kindness, and we hope to be back for more safaris to explore all that Tanzania has to offer. Thank you, Saloniki, all the best to you and hope to see you again!! Do book onto a tour — you’ll regret not doing it. This was truly an incredible trip.

Booking a safari with Kihindo Tours & Safaris is the best decision we have made. From all the help and advice we got from Winnie when planning, till the actual safari with the best guide possible, Isaya, we had an amazing experience. We unfortunately didn’t have as much time in Tanzania as we would have wished, but Winnie took the time to plan everything with us, so we could get the most out of our time. She even came to welcome us at the airport and followed up several times during the safari. Kihindo Tours & Safaris wouldn’t be the same without her! The safari was amazing - we saw so many animals and also came quite close to them. But Isaya made sure to do it with respect for the animals and also knew when to stay away. He taught us a lot about the wildlife, had great knowledge, and answered all the questions we had. He was very polite and also had great humour. We laughed a lot, which made the trip even more memorable. Staying at Camp Bastian was a bonus. Also here we were met by friendly people, the area was beautiful, the food very good, everything was clean and our family room spacious. We can only recommend Kihindo Tours & Safaris to everyone who wants to experience the beauty of Tanzania, and we already dream about going back, with more time on hand.

Affordable, intimate, personalized safari experience
I did the 3 day Nyerere tour with Kihindo and it was more than I could’ve dreamed! I was looking for a private tour that was also budget friendly and fit into a smaller time frame .. this tour was that and more. From the planning with Winnie to our amazing guide Michael (we love you guys!) and trainee, it could not have been a more personalized amazing experience. Winnie even helped me plan a birthday surprise. Michael was super accommodating any time we wanted to stop on the drive and answer the millions of questions we had at all points. The accommodation provided was SO incredible, the food was great and the employees were so sweet. On the safari itself we saw ALL the animals wanted (zebras, elephants, giraffes, hippos). Michael even made sure we saw the lions which are never a given to see! We also had the pleasure of doing a boat tour and saw hippos and got to visit a Masaai village before heading back to Dar es salaam. This was such a special trip and I wish I could thank you guys a million times

This safari surpass all my high expectations. This is my first safari and I hope I can do more in the future. This is a life changing experience! Danford was my guide and he is so patient and always tried to get us very close to the animals. We were able to see lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes very close. Adding to that, Danford explained a lot about the animals how to differentiate females from males, how they live and much more. I would highly recommend this tour specially Danford he is amazing. This experience wouldn’t be so nice without him. He made all the difference. I am so grateful of living this experience.

I took the one-day safari to Mikumi. The team at Kihindo was extremely professional and friendly, ensuring you are well looked after and that your visit is memorable. My trip ran very smoothly and could always count on someone to get information. I believe the package offers good value for money. Our experience has been fantastic with Kihindo Tours. I was exchanging emails with Winnie for quite a while, and she was very patient, answering all my queries clearly and really fast, providing different options to match what we wanted, and being accommodating. We were picked up at our hotel in Dar es Salaam by Winnie and Michael (our guide) promptly (they actually got there earlier than expected!), and after finalising payment and dropping Winnie at the offices, Michael started driving us to the camp where we'd be staying. He was very chatty, there were lots of water in the car and we stopped a couple of times for lunch, a break, etc. It is a bit of a long drive to Mikumi, but well worth it. A few kms before arriving to the camp, we started seeing animals (giraffes, zebras, impalas...) and Michael very kindly stopped so we could start taking pics. The accommodation was great. We had a nice bungalow, with the basics. It was really charming and all we could hear was birds and insects. It was lovely. food in the camp was very nice (buffet). the safari - Amazing .Michael was great, really knowledgeable and explaining lots of things. He made the whole thing really interesting, easy and really cool! We were very aware that it's a safari so maybe we wouldn't be able to see some animals (sadly we didn't spot leopards), but it was amazing. Our first day we saw elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, impalas, crocodiles, monitor lizards, hippos, wilderbeests, storks...and other animals and birds I can't remember haha . We also did a walking tour of the nearby waterfalls. It was great view and really quiet, as it was low season, so we had the waterfalls just for us to swim All in all, we believe it's great value for money, they were extremely reliable, helping us with all the queries we had before/during/after the safari...Would absolutely recommend. We even met Mr Kihindo, who is a very nice young man!!!

Winnie’s communication throughout was exceptional. I cannot compliment her more because she really made sure everything was done properly. There was never a question unanswered and everything was organised perfectly with no problems. We felt safe and comfortable at all times and well looked after. Amazing!
William from Kihindo Tours and Safaris showed us around in two of Tanzanias national parks. He shared lots of his great knowledge with us for 5 days, and he was a great driver and guide. Kihindo Tours made an unforgettavle journey for our group and stod for super accomodations and good food. Thanks you for a great adventure!

Amazing experience
I had an amazing experience on this safari, and a big part of that was thanks to our incredible guide, Saloniki, and our skilled driver, Adamu. Saloniki’s knowledge about the wildlife and the environment was outstanding, and he made every moment fascinating with his insights and stories. Adamu’s driving skills were impressive, especially when navigating tricky terrains to give us the best possible views of the animals. Together, they made the trip unforgettable. I highly recommend this safari for anyone looking for an authentic and memorable adventure!
