My husband and I did a safari tour with Kihindo Tours and it was wonderful. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent. Our point of contact, Winnie was attentive and easy to reach. Our guide Gaston was professional, knowledgeable and polite. This is our first time in Africa and we enjoyed it very much. Faultless and friendly care with reliable recommendations and dependable service

Winnie was so helpful going above and beyond to make the organisation and start of the trip incredibly easy, including speedy communication, airport transfers, hotel recommendations, last minute activities and getting a sim card no stress at all. All of the team were very welcoming, caring and knowledgeable on a wide range of topics. Isaya anticipated every comfort and made journeys laidback and interesting. Godfrey was a great guide on safari, adapting to our wishes and finding great spots to see the unbelievable wildlife. The landscape of Mikumi National Park is well worth a visit and we were lucky to see lots of elephants and lions. It is also more accessible than other parks in the rainy seasons. The included accommodation at Camp Bastian was luxurious, comfortable and clean and there was a wide range of delicious food served at the buffets. I cannot recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris enough! You can really rely on them to have a trip of a lifetime.

Great staff who made our trip a life long memory

In a nutshell, everything went according to plan and expectations: great service and follow up from Kihindo tours (William and Winnie); extra support to retreive lost luggage; fantastic and awesome days on safaris both in Mikumi and Nyerere, incl walking- and boat safaris with local guides; and two charming lodges who both made us feel «like home». Professional, affordable and very kind!

My extended family and I went on 2 separate trips with Kihindo Tours & Safaris. The first was with some family members who were visiting Tanzania and the other was with Tanzanian residents. We planned both safaris fairly last minute... but Kihindo was absolutely the best choice to go for, here's why: 1. Isaya's communication was phenomenal. He was very quick to answer all my questions and responded to my ever-changing requests for packages. Even the night before we went on Safari, I had a last-minute request and he quickly helped us to get it sorted. During both tours, Isaya also regularly checked to ensure everything was going well. 2. The safaris were very affordable. I did a bit of shopping around and I can say without a doubt that Kihindo Tours & Safaris provided the best value for money. 3. The tours themselves were absolutely fantastic. We all had a great time seeing all the animals and the stunning landscape. The tours were also child and baby friendly (with a car seat provided upon request). We were provided with all we needed - food, drinks, music, etc... and our guide frequently asked us if we needed anything. The hotels we stayed at were also comfortable and spacious. 4. Our guide Mdee was fantastic!!! He was very knowledgeable, safety-conscious, friendly and entertaining. He ensured we were comfortable and that we had all we needed. He was also quick to solve any problems that came up which showed resilience and professionalism. Overall we all had a FANTASTIC experience and look forward to more safaris and tours with them. We would highly recommend Kihindo Tours & Safaris to anyone looking to tour Tanzania!

Amazing experience

I absolutely loved the experience—everything was perfect! My friend and I were staying at the Holiday Inn in Dar es Salaam, and our driver picked us up at 5 a.m. to take us to the train station. The tickets had already been arranged for us, which made things super convenient. The train ride to Morogoro took about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Once we arrived, another driver was already waiting with a very comfortable car. The drive to Mikumi National Park took around two hours, mainly due to heavy truck traffic on the road. Our safari guide was ready and waiting when we got there, and we immediately started the morning game drive. We saw so many animals—more than I expected! Giraffes, zebras, lots of elephants, hippos, two female lions, wildebeests, warthogs (Pumbas!), and more. After that, we had a delicious lunch and then continued with the afternoon game drive. When it ended, our driver was there to take us back to the train station, where we waited for our train back to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival around 10 p.m., another driver was ready to bring us back to our hotel. It was a long day, but absolutely worth it! Communication throughout was easy and smooth—they stayed in touch with us via WhatsApp the whole time. Also, the cost of the tour was a bit lower than others I had compared, which was a nice bonus.

Reliable, friendly, flexible

We booked our safari with Kihindo, and it was very smooth from the beginning. They always gave fast replies to all questions and all guides were super friendly. Because of the elections it was unstable in Tanzania at the moment of our planned safari, however it was easy to contact them and get all the changes we needed to be able to go to our safari anyways. No surprise costs, everything was exaktly as described, highly recommend!

We made an unforgetable trip which was well organized and performed from the start in Dar Es Salaam to Mikumi NP and to Udzungwa Mountains NP. Our guides Nuhu and Salonikis were always on time, answered all of our (many) questions with a lot of interesting details about all the animals, plants and the country and its residents. And both of them are such nice guys! If we ever do a safari again, it will hopefully with guides like Nuhu and Salonikis. Thanks again guys for making our first safari a memorable experience.

We booked a 3-day safari with ferry and train to Mikumi from Zanzibar with Kihindo Tours, October 10-12, 2025. It was an unforgettable experience, everything was well organized - good communication (Winnie), guidance (Messy), and the guide (Jackson). Camp Lilac was fantastic, small in size. Luxury tent surrounded by nothing but nature, just like it must be in Africa. We had wonderful days with wonderful people around us (Denise, Maasai, etc.). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you also enjoy peace and quiet; we give it a 10 (no mass tourism in a large camp). A great game drive in Mikumi, saw a lot. TOP! Philip and Coby

Best Experience Ever!

The BEST experience. I was a little nervous at first about taking the train to Mikumi but it was completely seamless, clean, and well organized. The Safari experience with Damson itself was a day I will remember for the rest of my life and look back on fondly. We saw an amazing assortment of animals, including lions, elephants, giraffes and a wide variety of the flora as well. Damson has excellent scientific awareness and understanding of the local ecology and wildlife, and patiently explained extremely interesting details about everything. Also, as I was travelling solo, Damson deftly used the opportunity arising from the lack of noise and greater manoeuvrability to show me as much as possible; the highlight was being able to view the king of the pride at Mikumi, Kipara, at an arms length while he napped. Last but not least, I had an amazing time driving back and forth with Isaya - he was extremely knowledgeable about Tanzanian culture and economics, and all around capital fellow who is guaranteed to have an amazing future ahead of him. All the best for you and the company Isaya! Don’t forget us when you become a big business man!

Wonderful experience at Mikumi National Park in rainy season with a professional guide

We have been before to several parks in Tanzania but this trip to Mikumi exceeded all our expectations. It was a wonderful experience and Isaya has been such a fantastic guide! We were in doubt if we should take a safari or not for only 3 days in the raining season. Our son of 12 years convinced us to take it and we are so glad we did it! Isaya was very prompt and clear in the communication before the safari, both on email and WhatsApp and we liked that very much. We drove from Dar on a rainy Saturday and the road was blocked because of two trucks that crushed on the road before Morogoro. Isaya was very clever in driving, very calm and in a good mood despite the chaos around and the long cue of trucks and busses blocked on the road, bringing us safely to Mikumi. Despite the short stay, we saw so many animals, and our son was thrilled to see baby lions baby elephants, baby giraffes and zebras. Isaya was very patient and waited for us to observe again and again families of elephants, giraffes and lions

Great tour, amazing staff and experience and top customer care

Amazing experience and can’t wait for my next safari. The entire trip was very well organised and communicated well from the team. The safari was beautiful! We managed to see all of the animals inc. lions, hippos, giraffes, zebras, buffalo and more. It was a great day. Our guide Saloniki was very knowledgable and friendly and made the experience even better. He answered all of our questions and looked after us well. Pick up and drop off were also very timely and organised which made the whole trip very easy with nothing to worry about. Will be telling my friends and would definitely go again. Great value for money.

We planned this Safari tour with Kihindo Tours, 1 day Trip to Nyerere national Park for the family on 01st August 2023, booked from (UK). For Six of us, Myself, My wife, Son, Daughter-in-Law and Two Grand daughters. (flew from Zanzibar to Nyerere national park) early in the morning, upon arrival were greeted by Joseph our Driver who was also our tour guide. After brief intro. and safety briefing we started the tour in a six seater open vehicle. We were very lucky on the day to see a Leopard, about 15 Lions including cubs, a family of Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, Hippos, Crocodiles, Hyenas, Wild beasts, Spotted few Eagles, Various types of Monkeys to name the least. A day thoroughly enjoyed by the family, and Joseph made this safari a very memorable experience value for money well spent. I would recommend this tour.

Amazing experience!!

We did a 5 day tour in Gombe National Park and we just loved the experience. From the beginning, planning the trip was eaay and smooth thanks to Isaya, who adapted the tour to our needs and budget. Once in Gombe, Adolf was our guide and we were delighted, he knew the area very well and he took care of every little thing, always with a smile. Thanks to Kihindo Tours and Safaris, we got to watch chimpanzees and baboons, swim in the crystal clear waters of lake Tanganyka and experience life and culture of a beautiful but less known area of Tanzania. Perfect 3 day safari in Northern Tanzania

Kihindo Tours arranged for us the perfect trip to the Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and mount Meru. Everything was nicely arranged and the company made a very good price for us in combining the climb of the mountain and the safaris. We had our own private chef who gave us the best Tanzanian food. Overall we had a very lovely trip! The contact with Kihindo Tours is very easy and really fast!
