Excellent one day safari experience

Danfore and Owen were absolutely amazing! They got us close enough while respecting the animals space which was important to us. We got to see so many animals. Our fav were the elephants at the watering hole, zebras, giraffes, buffalo and the lions! Food was awesome. Highly recommend !

The tour operator was absolutely amazing, kind and super well organised

We did a 4 night 5 day Safari with Isahya to Nyerere and Mikumi national park! It was absolutely amazing, we had the best time in our trip! From the pick up in dar es salaam to our last day and drop off everything was super well organised and Isahya always provided us with everything we needed! The accommodation were very nice and the rooms were super spacious! I can not recommend this trip more! We enjoyed every second of it! Thanks again to the great Organisation from Isahya

I can say that the whole Kihindo safari experience we had on the mainland of Tanzania was a 10/10. We took a ferry from Stone Town, Zanzibar and when we arrived to Dar es Salaam, our guide was already waiting for us there. There is a 4-5 hour drive to the Mloka Lodge, and although part of the road is bumpy, honestly, it was not something that unenjoyable. The lodge was very clean, it had an authentic vibe and we had all the necessary amenities. The food was delicious- all of the meals were tasty and well cooked by the experienced chef they have. The overall staff was very nice, helpful and always smiling. Our special mention has to be our great guide, William, who was always careful and happy to assist us in any way. He was responsible for us for the whole stay and was also our game drive safari guide, thanks to him we had an amazing day, we saw a lot of animals and created core memories we will cherish forever. We definitely recommend having him as a guide, if you have the chance, he is friendly and he does his job with passion and profesionalism. Don’t skip this great venture into the wild heart of Africa! :)

A Wonderful Safari with Kihindo Tours and Safaris

On Wednesday, 16 July 2025, we had a memorable safari with Kihindo Tours and Safaris (K.T.S.) in Mikumi. It is by chance that we have chosen radomly K.T.S on a list that our hotel has communicated to us. First of all, many thanks to Winnie who has provided timely smart feedbacks to our multiple questions. Winnie is available and her responses are helpful to take a quick decision. Everything was well organized from 1. the mornining step to get the train to Morogoro, 2. connexion from Morogoro train station to Mikumi and 3. the Safari with our professional guide Danford. He knows his job, with an easy communication (English and Swahili), caring and attentive to every question. On ONE single day, we managed to see almost all the different wild animals, bravo to our SMART and famous guide Danford and a well organized trip ! I may add as well that the food was excellent and we had our lunch in an appropriate location/almost open space. Thanks to the team who was involved in the kitchen service. Are you planning a Safari in Tanzania ? I strongly recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris (K.T.S.), you will not regret your journey !

Organized affordable yet still knowledgeable

I think it is best to split this review into two parts. The tldr however is that our safari with Kihindo was wonderful. Pre-safari The organisation all occurred last minute over WhatsApp with the wonderful Winnie who answered all of my questions and concerns (of which there were many) swiftly and clearly. The price was exactly as advertised with no additional taxes charged etc etc. We were picked up from our hotel by someone from the agency and dropped of exactly where we wanted to be by our guide at the end. The safari The safari it's self was spectacular, we went to Nyerere national park for 3 days and 2 nights and had a very knowledgeable guide named Isa. Our first day we arrived to a very nice lodge were greeted by the staff there offered a drink and asked when we would like to lunch (as they would ask for every meal) the accommodation was spacious and clean. The game drive went spectacularly as our guide knew the park and animals very well we saw so much, and although a lot of it is based on luck I believe having a good guide really increases your chances. All in all we had a wonderful trip filled with incredible encounters and are planning to do another safari with Kihindo in 3 days largely due to how wonderful the last one was.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!

From the moment we connected with Winnie to plan the safari to the moment we were dropped at home everything was amazing. Winnie is so helpful and communicative. She picked us up with a wonderful driver (who we ended up seeing at the lodge a few days later) and took us right into the train station. Once we arrived in Morogoro we were met by Julius who drove us to Mikumi. Julius was awesome and personable. We had the best time talking with him on our two hour trip. Once in mikumi we met with our guide Danford. Danford was fun, kind and knowledgeable! He was so smart and taught us so much. He was patient and helpful with the kids and knew how to get us to the best viewing spots. He had many connections with other guides which helped us have the most amazing fulfilling experience! He was a wonderful driver and made everyone feel safe while keeping it very exciting. We always knew when he got a good call because we would all hold on tight and take off! He gave us so many incredible close encounters! We were sad to leave him. After Julius took us back to Morogoro we met Winnie and a driver in Dar at the train station. They were happy to see us and we have the most fun recounting our stories on the drive back to our home. I recommend Kihindo tours to anyone looking for an amazing experience!

Amazing and friendly!

We had an absolutely AMAZING! Safari day with Kihindo tours & safaris. The overall contact was so nice and every single question we had was quickly responded by Winnie. She is such a lovely person and so nice to talk with. She made us have no worries at all. The ultimate hakuna matata experience. So a special thanks to Winnie! The safari day was absolutely amazing. We just can’t find the right words. The beautifull environment the animals live in, and the beauty of the animals themselve. Unfortunately we didn’t saw the elephants but hey; that’s nature!! We did see lions, zebras, giraffes, pumbaa, hyenas, buffels, impala’s, monkeys, krokodiles, hippo’s and even the leopard!! So cool! Our guide did his best to still looking for the elephant but unfortunetely with no results. But that’s a good reason to maybe even come back once again hihi. It was absolutely an amazing experience and we can not thank Kihindo tours & safaris enough! THANKYOU!

Great organization

I found Kihindo Tours through safaribookings.com. Everything was new to me, so I was quite nervous. Everything was perfectly arranged from start to finish. Winnie was very helpful. We stayed at Mloka Lodge, a lovely accommodation surrounded by nature with very friendly people. The food was excellent and more than enough. We booked a four-day safari in Nyerere National Park and had William as our guide. William is a truly fantastic guide. He knows everything about everything, and nothing is too much trouble for him. We saw many different animals. We're returning to the Netherlands with wonderful memories of a fantastic safari. Thanks again for everything, William!

Our three-day safari with Kihindo Tours was truly breathtakingly beautiful. Not only were we incredibly lucky to see all kinds of animals on the two days of our safari. Our tour guide Michael was also really nice. On the one hand, he was able to give us a lot of information, but on the other, he also gave us plenty of time to simply marvel at everything. The evening and early morning safaris in particular were really worthwhile. The accommodation booked by Kihindo was great and the food was really delicious. The visit of the Maasai village was also an amazing experience.

It was my first time in Tanzania and my first safari, and it was an amazing experience ! I saw and did so much more than expected 🤩 (i did a 3-days safari) Our guide Saloniki was very kind, fun, and we learn a lot with him ! Our driver Adam was also so adorable! Food and accomodation was very good too. I recommanded this experience 😁

Unforgettable Safari Adventure with Kihindo Tours!

From start to finish, our safari with Kihindo Tours was absolutely incredible. Michael, our guide, went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. We visited both Nyerere National Park and Mikumi National Park, experiencing a wonderful mix of landscapes, wildlife, and adventure. The 4x4 safaris were thrilling, giving us the chance to see all the main African animals up close in their natural habitat, while the boat safari on the Rufiji River was a completely unique and breathtaking experience. Watching birds, hippos, and crocodiles by the water’s edge was something we’ll never forget. Michael’s knowledge, professionalism, and friendly personality made the whole journey smooth and enjoyable. He always knew where to take us for the best sightings and shared so many fascinating insights about the animals and the parks. We cannot recommend Kihindo Tours enough – everything was well organised, safe, and full of magical moments. This was truly the trip of a lifetime, and we’ll be talking about it for years to come. The service was excellent and we were in communication with the team at Kihindo from the time of booking all the way up to arrival in Tanzania. My safari experience was absolutely amazing! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable throughout the entire journey. Our guide saloniki & drive Adam’s was exceptionally knowledgeable and provided clear, engaging explanations about the animals and their habitats. We were lucky to see a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, and giraffes, up close in their natural environment. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. An Exceptional Experience

From the communication beforehand to the hotel pickup, the transportation to the park, and the safari itself, everything was great. The drivers were all friendly and helpful, and my safari guide Danford was excellent. Saw way more than I expected, and we lucked out and were 15 feet away as a small herd of elephants drank and cooled off in the water. A really cool adventure, and worth every penny.

Ooh I don’t know where to start 😍 We just had the best trip ever with KIHINDO TOURS in Tanzania, and we can’t stop smiling about it! From the wild beauty of Mikumi National Park to cozy nights in lovely hotels, every moment was perfect. They Made Everything Easy—Even Last-Minute Changes! We booked late and had some special requests (like one of us needing to fly back to Zanzibar early), but the team handled it all without any stress. They were so flexible and kind—it felt like traveling with friends! Hotels That Felt Like a Dream First, we stayed at Camp bastian—wow! The rooms were huge, beautiful, and so comfortable. Then, on our way back, we spent a night at Harbour View Suites in Dar es Salaam. Waking up to the ocean view after an amazing day was the perfect ending 🥰 And what a day it was! Expert and passionate jung guy!

We really enjoyed our safari with William! We stayed with him 5 days traveling from Dar et Salam to Mikumi and Ruaha seeing lot of different animals! I really enjoyed also the typical safari car, a really big Toyota Land Cruiser with open roof. I have to Thank william also to have promptly solved an engine problem during the trip allowing us to continue enjoying our trip!

Excellent Tours

We had a great time, over 4 days between Mikumi and Ruaha parks, lots of wildlife to see and all of it expertly explained by our guide, Soloniki. He and our driver Peter put great efforts into ensuring we found the animals we wanted to see and that made all the difference. Would thoroughly recommend to take a safari under their guidance, it was a 5-star experience! Also special mention to our coordinator Winnie who was extremely helpful from the first moment of booking through to the last moment where we parted ways with Kihindo staff. We would certainly safari again with them.
