An unforgettable experience!

We visited Tanzania with Kihindo Tours and Safaris in October 2023, and although it has taken us a while to write this review (life tends to get in the way of computer time!), we had to share our experience! From start to finish, everything was smoothly organized, personal, and deeply memorable. But what truly made the journey special was our guide Isaya. He was outstanding: incredibly knowledgeable, kind, professional, and attentive to every detail. We had fun time with him, spotted animals with an expert eye, and made us feel safe, inspired, and genuinely cared for every step of the way. Thank you, Isaya and Kihindo Safari, for everything. Best safari ever!

This safari was one of the best experiences we ever had and we are very happy, that we chose kihindo safaris. It first started with the organisation of "Winnie" who helped us and answered our questions at any time of the day. She explained everything in detail and organized our trip perfectly. When we got there we were greeted by our excellent guide called "William" who was with us the whole 4 days. You could see that he has fun doing his job and could literally answer every single question we had. He always made sure, that we were happy and tried to make the drives as exciting as possible. We can really recommend the whole organization and the trip to everyone who wants to be part of a safari! And if you decide to book a safari, ask for William!

First Safari for me, Kihindo has been advise for me, and I did not regret this choice. The team had been incredible, from the booking up to my return at the hotel. Beyond the amazing experience of the Safari, I have been really impacted by the kindness and the professionalism of the team: all lasted without any mistakes, just you let flow by them. Particular mentions to Winnie who lead your trip in a perfect time with a lot of care. Also to Salonick for his attention and his permanent optimistic smile. Actually, to Nuhu, incredible young man with a great and deep knowledge of the nature, he tells you true and amazing stories of the wildlife he experienced by himself. EXCELLENT SAFARI EXPERIENCE

We started on May looking for a travel agency to receive some quote for our private safari. We had done some other private safari in 2018 and 2019 in Tanzania visiting Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire but this time we would visit the parks of south of Tanzania. We received some quote from some agency but the first who wrote to us also a whatsapp and follow us in our request very rapid was Winnie from Kihindo Tours and Safaris. We asked a lot of changings to find the right compromise with our budget. When we reached the airport in Dar es salam we met Winnie and Willy (our Guide and driver) and we started for our private safari and at the beginig everithing went going well. First Park, Mikumi, second Ruaha, in the second park we got stuck for mud for 2 hour (it was small raining season) but our guide was very smart, keep calm and solved a problem with help of ranger's park. We changed our plan about the 3 park (Nyerere) because we knew that it was very difficult to drive during raining and mud. We asked to Winnie by whatsapp if was possibleto change plans and in a bit time we find the good solution to us, so we came back to Mikumi National park. It was the right choise, the safari was execellent, we saw a lot of animals and birds and our guide Willy was very smart and brilliant. We can say for sure Thanks to Willy if we saw a lot of animals, includind Lions and Leopards (that we Know are very very difficult to see) Thanks a lot to Kihindo, Winnie, Danfor and Willy. We can say for sure that if we came back to Tanzania, we already know wich will be our safari's agency. Thanks a lot Cristina and Stefano

You will not regret booking with Kihindo Tours and Safari's. The process of booking was smooth and communication swift. Met at the airport and seemless transfer to the safari park and dropped off at the ferry port once complete. The safari was excellent and more so our guide William made the trip that bit better. Very personable, warming and had a good knowledge of the animals that we saw which included lions, elphants and Water Buffalo. Great company, staffed by excellent, genuine people who make your trip so very special.

Short: do it! It’s worth the money!

Long: Our recent safari adventure in Mikumi National Park exceeded our expectations in most ways. Our expert guide, Mike, demonstrated exceptional skills in navigating through the park and locating numerous animal sightings. His extensive knowledge about each species and their ecosystem contributed significantly to the overall enriching experience. Mike ensured we had ample opportunities to observe these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. Moreover, his keen eye spotted even the most well-camouflaged inhabitants of the park, providing us with once-in-a-lifetime encounters. Throughout the entire expedition, I felt confident knowing that every detail had been meticulously handled by Winnie, who managed our bookings professionally and maintained excellent communication throughout the process. Our accommodation, Mikumi Resort, was simple but overall nice. Exactly what you would expect from the budget choice. Excellent experience!

We had a very nice experience with this Mikumi safari and Udzungwa ride. We discovered 2 very different parts of Tanzania. The lodge (with swimming pool!) and the food were perfect ! Our guide and our driver were really on top : always smiling, they took care of us and did their best for our pleasure until the last minute of the tour ! Thank you for everything !

From reservation negotiation till end of safari they are really care so much and give wonderfull service, cause we are a family with two child safety and flexibility was important for us and thanks to our guide and driver he care about so much that issues he is so gentle and fulfill all our requitements as well.

We highly recommend the Safari Tour with Isaya! We booked the tour with a trip to Mikumi NP, Ruaha NP and the Udzungwa Mountains. Isaya gave us a detailed schedule in advance. The communication was uncomplicated via whattsapp. Isaya picked us up at our hotel at Dar es salaam and we started in Mikumi with an afternoon/evening game drive. The Camp Bastian near Mikumi NP is a great accomodation! The trip to Ruaha was also very nice! Despite the rain season we saw many different animals. Unfortunately, there was construction work going on in our accommodation in Ruaha Park, which is why the night there wasn't so nice. Our highlight was definitely the hike in the Udzungwa mountains (despite the rain). we had a great time with Isaya and can only recommend it. A small note: Isaya wanted to have the payment in cash, which we didn't know. However, we were able to clarify this quickly. we recommend that this is best clarified in advance.

I was very happy with the tour. I had a very limited time and I had to find a tour for two days on the weekend, going on Saturday morning and returning on Sunday evening. I contacted many companies but Kihindo tours was the one I felt the most comfortable thanks to its professionalism. As I am a solo female traveler, I was a bit stressed and I was not sure if safari was a good idea or not. But I am glad I did it! Winnie and the whole tour team took very good care of me from the moment I was picked up from the hotel to the moment I was dropped off. Although people normally had one guide, I had two guides. Salonike and Jonathan were both very good guides (Jonathan actually was the driver but he was also super knowledgeable) and very nice people. We did game driving both in the morning and evening, both were incredible experiences. I recommend both the tour and mikumi park if you have a limited time and cannot go to the Serengeti.

Calm, collective and well informed

We booked a 3 day Trip from zanzibar. First day wearrived and went to the Maasai Village, which was a very good experience. The second day was Safari, which started quit early in the morning and lastet Till 5 PM. The Safari was a very good experience, since our guid knew the Park very good and could Tell US alot about the animals living there. The third day was Just the departure.

What a fantastic tour

From the time Saloniki and William picked us up at our hotel and dropped us back at the airport at the end of the tour all our needs were met. The guide and driver were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We wanted to see elephants and both Saloniki and William made sure we saw some. They worked well together as a team. Winnie was in contact to discuss details and was very prompt to reply to any questions we had. The 3day tour was well worth the money. As our flight was in the earlier hours we arranged for an extra tour to fill the hours. Both Saloniki and William made sure we were safe at all times and were fantastic company. They were a credit to Kihindo tours and safaris.

Exceeded every possible expectation

From the moment we wanted to book the safari, the Kihindo team were very helpful answering all our questions and making us feel assured about the decision. They picked us up from Dar es Salaam airport and as we were running a little late to catch the train, they did everything possible to make sure we get on the train. Every member of staff was very friendly and helpful. But once we reached the actual safari it went to the other level. Our guide Saloniki created very comfortable environment and made sure we were on the same page, about what’s going to happen, from the beginning. As we read before that November isn’t the number one month to see all the animals, we had acknowledged that it may happen that we won’t be able to see all animals we would like. But Saloniki made that happen. He took us exactly to the animals we had wished to see for - lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos and all the antelopes, buffaloes. Throughout the safari he always did like we had asked and took our wishes into account. Once we arrived to our accommodation, the Camp Lilac, the staff welcomed us with arms wide open, singing and dancing to us. And the cabin is nice and the dinner is pretty romantic ;) In conclusion the Kihindo team have exceeded our expectations and made this trip incredible. The biggest value we’d say are the people we’ve met during the safari. Thank you Saloniki and all the Kihindo team for the effort! We would 100% all heartedly recommend everyone to book a safari with them.
