In case you're looking for a hassle-free way to enjoy the wildlife in Kenya, I recommend using Kikwetu Cultural Adventures company. They organized everything for us and were very easy to work with. We were two people travelling and were picked up from the airport by our guide who was very friendly and also gave us a lot of information about the region and culture of the people. The hotel was superb, great food and friendly staff. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and he was really patient with our questions. I would recommend using Kikwetu Cultural Adventures to anyone who is looking to do a safari in Kenya.

Dream vacation with my family and Kikwetu Cultural Adventures
After an amazing experience in 2018 with Kenneth, I decided to return with my family. We stayed 2 nights in Four Points Hotel in Nairobi to get to know the city. The night before our safari, we have got a pleasant visit from Kenneth and our Guide Chriss who went to our hotel to set the rest of the week. We began our trip to Samburu National Park, which took us a 5 hour drive, with the pleasant company of our guide Chriss, explaining along the way everything we were seeing. We stayed in Samburu for 2 nights. It’s an amazing park where you can see various and various kinds of birds, lions, zebras, elephants, giraffes… you name it! We stayed at Ashnil Samburu, a very pleasant hotel. The third day, we went to OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY to spend one night at Serena Sweetwaters Camp where you can see rhinos, chimps and other animals. The hotel is excellent and the tents are very very good. The fourth day, we went to Lake Naivasha, for one night also, and stayed at Lake Naivasha Country Club. This is a very pleasant hotel with a big garden full of animals. We went on a canoe ride where we could see various birds and hippos. We also made a walk on Crescent Island. This was a very pleasant afternoon. The fifth day we went to Masai Mara reserve, where we stayed for 3 nights at Ashnil Mara. It’s an excellent hotel near Mara river, full of hippos. During the night we would hear the hyenas, the lions and the hippos. This is a very comfortable hotel. Thanks to our guide Chriss, we were able to see every animal there was to see: many lions, various leopards, cheetahs and we even were able to see the migration of the wildebeests and the zebras crossing the Mara river. This was a moment to never forget! Thank you Chriss! We even had lunch and breakfast in the bushes. This was an unforgettable week, at very comfortable hotels, good food and excellent company. We would like to thank Kenneth for organizing such an amazing safari and to Chriss for always being with us and making our vacation a week to remember.

incredible safari to Tsavo East and West during rainy season
It's the second time that we took a safari organized by Kikwetu (Kenneth) and exactly as the first time we had an amazing 7 days trip. This time we went to Tsavo East and West and even being there during rainy season, we saw plenty of animals and had a very safe trip thanks to our amazing guide and driver Livingstone. We stayed at wonderful lodges :Ashnil Aruba Lodge, Salt Lick Lodge and Kilaguni Lodge, and as of the rainy season, we had sometime the Lodges just for us... We enjoyed plenty of wonderful landscapes and Livingstones experience and determination, allowed us to see lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, plenty of incredible birds, elephants, giraffes, zebras, ... and many more, as well to learn a lot about Kenia. We would absolutely use Kikwetu again and highly recommend them to anyone considering an African safari.

Safari and city vacation for two.
My daughter and I visited Kenya after her graduation from residency. As a woman in her 70's I did not feel up to going to Africa my first time without some kind of support, though did not want to take a regular tour. I found Kikwetu searching on line, and decided to take a chance as it advertised personal tours. Kenneth of Kikwetu was amazing. Over the months of preparation he answered every email immediately, listened to what I wanted to do, was patient with my requested changes, and had good suggestions when needed. In Kenya we were met immediately, and always had a gentleman at our disposal as needed. A driver took us to several safari camps, and then to the airplane to go to the Maasai Mara for the camp located inside the Mara. They worked around our meeting family friends in Nairobi. Another driver met us in Mombasa and took care of us there as desired. They made the journey safe, fun and hassle free for two women who knew nothing about Kenya! I highly recommend Kikwetu Cultural Adventures if you want to plan your own vacation / tour with local support.

Wonderful 6 days safari
Since the first mail I crossed with Kenneth I was feeling that everything will work out properly, but once I arrived to Nairobi airport it even exceed my expectations!! I'm very happy with all the days I've expend in this trip and the way that Ken and Livingston handled my stay. The lodges I've stayed in (Sopa lodges) were really comfortable and with a very good food. I'll definitively recommend to put yourselves on Ken hands and you'll have an unforgettable experience. Thanks for all!!!

A memorable, budget/mid price private safari organised by Kikwetu with great attention to detail
I used Kenneth at Kikwetu to organise a 10 day safari in Kenya an Tanzania in August this year for my husband myself with daughter and partner. Four of us travelled together and chose our own route and itinerary with Kenneth's help. I was apprehensive about trusting arrangements to someone who did not have a representative in uk - and more so when it came to transferring 50% of cost before accommodation etc could be confirmed. The reason I chose to use Kikwetu was that Kenneth always responded quickly to emails and costs seemed reasonable. Once we arrived in Niarobi any anxieties disappeared. Kenneth arranged transport from the airport to our pre-safari accommodation and came to meet us the following day at our convenience. All arrangements were in place with accommodation booked - some was basic, some outstanding. Kenneth provided a private cook at no additional charge when he was unsure of the quality of catering at one of the tented camps. Ask for a stay within the Serengeti park. It is well worth the small additional cost. Transport was in a good quality of vehicle - but dont be afraid to tell the drivers to slow down! Long days on unmade roads can be very uncomfortable and tiring so be advised by Kenneth on the best route. We got the holiday that we had planned and Kenneth's suggestions were helpful, and often much better than we could have sourced ourselves. The key to the success of the holiday was the personal service provided by Kenneth and attention to detail. I would recommend this company for a reliable journey.

Private Safari around Kenya - A Wonderful Experience!!!
I would like to share my experience with “Kikwetu Cultural Adventures” with you.. In spring 2015 I started planning my trip to Kenya (initially scheduled for July 2015). I found Kikwetu searching on line, and decided to take a chance as it advertised personal tours. Kenneth, the representative from Kikwetu, was just amazing. Over the months of preparation he kept answering all my emails immediately, listening to what I wanted to do, was rather patient with my requested changes and was offering good suggestions when needed. In June 2015 I sent a deposit, but shortly after that I had to postpone my whole trip to Kenya due to the capital controls that were imposed in Greece. Kenneth was once again so patient and helpful with me, and at the end he accepted to keep the deposit for next year without charging me any extra fees. In the beginning of 2016 I started again planning my safari in Kenya. Kenneth once again was there for me. Along with his help we ‘designed’ a custom made 11 days private safari in July 2016. When I arrived at the airport, I was picked up at the airport by Livingston, my private driver/tour guide for the following eleven days. Needless to say that Livingston was just perfect. The best possible guide I could possibly have! On our first day we took a visit in Nairobi and during the following days we visited 5 national parks around Kenya (Samburu, Lake Naivasa, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Amboseli). The whole trip ran smoothly without any surprises. We saw the ‘Big 5’ and many other animals. Accommodation and food was really good. During my last day, and because of the fact that I had to catch a late flight back to Athens, Livingston and Kenneth spent the whole day with me and helped me to see some really interesting sights of Nairobi. I know that “Kikwetu Cultural Adventures” also arranges tours to other African Countries around Kenya and I will surely ask for their services for my upcoming visit to Ethiopia which undoubtedly will be perfectly organized as well! An amazing experience
We have just returned from a seven day tour of Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara. The excellent reviews of this company proved well deserved. We are a mature aged couple who travelled with a first class guide and excellent driver in a safari van with a pop-up roof. From the start, Kenneth had responded promptly to our needs, with very helpful suggestions and information. The accommodation arranged was very good, and though there was a lot of driving involved we profited from the expertise of our guide and driver not only to spot the full range of animals, even when they were camouflaged in the wilderness, but also to learn details of their habitat. A highly recommended team.

Top vacation
Booked with Kikwetu shortly before leaving to Kenya. They could organize the trip according to our wishes. Livingstone was our guide in Kenya. He really showed knowledge about wildlife and did his level best to show us the big 5 and more. In Tanzania we had a mismatch with the first guide, but it was quickly solved by Kikwetu. Peter was an excellent tour guide who i would recommend to anyone going to Tanzania. The tented camps in Tanzania are of a bit lower standard then the ones in Kenya, but very exciting to wake up during the night due to the sound of hyena's or lions.

Another lovely experience in Kenya
We had an eight days safari in February with Kikwetu Cultural Adventures visiting Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara and the Kenyan Coast (Mombasa). This was my second time using the services of this company and as to my expectation the planning, execution and delivery was well above board. Although this time we had somewhat a tight budget they were still able to customize a wonderful and memorable safari for us. The accommodation and food was of high quality. Kenneth, was very helpful in planning the safari and was very quick in answering our emails. Isaac, our guide, was very knowledgeable, passionate and so resourceful, we had easy time in spotting animals. Mombasa was a paradise! I have been in many coastal towns but there was something so unique with the Kenyan beach. The tropical weather here was so welcoming. We had time to visit several place including the famous Fort Jesus. All in all we enjoyed our stay in Kenya and the excellent services offered by Kikwetu. I can now confidently recommend this company to anyone who wants to enjoy the Kenyan safari even with a tight budget. Thank you guys.

We were a family of five with three teenagers visiting first the Masai Mara for three nights and then Mombasa beach for five nights, finishing off in Nairobi for two nights. The trip was planned and executed to perfection with the experienced and friendly staff at Kikwetu Cultural Adventures, with top quality service, food and accommodation at the three hotels we stayed in. Norfolk hotel in Nairobi, Sarova Hotel in the Masai Mara and the Neptune Palm in Diani, Mombasa. The safari in Masai Mara was the highlight of the trip as we were lucky to see the big five and more. Bring good binoculars, a sun hat and warm sweater for early morning drives.

Right people for the right place. We could not ask for more!
I was a little bit nervous at the time of booking our trip. We were seven of us. My husband and I don’t travel often, so I wanted this, may be a one time, to be really memorable. A relative suggested Kikwetu Cultural Adventures. Kenneth of Kikwetu was so attentive, he answered each and every query I had, and this made me feel that I was in touch with a “friend” rather than a tour company. He promised that we would take back good memories and yes we did. We appreciated the fact that Kenneth took pains to meet us on the last day of our trip to bid us farewell. Musaga our smart and friendly driver and guide picked us up from Nairobi and headed to “Keekorok Lodge” for our 3 day safari. The hotel was lovely and the food was good. The staff very pleasant. Musaga did a fabulous job on the safari. He was particularly keen to please us and show us which ever animal we wished to see. He would continuously keep in touch with the other guides and would race cross country over bumps, bushes and rivulets, which made the trip more exciting,, to get to the spot where the animal was. Musaga was ever so obliging. Thank you Musaga we will not forget you. The maximum rating is 5 star, but I would rate Kikwetu a personal "7 star", and recommend Kikwetu to anyone wishing to have a memorable safari like we did.

Unforgettable experience
This was my second time on safari but first time in Kenya, this was unforgettable 6 days safari experience. what they planned for me was much better than the previous one. my guide, Domnic was very knowledgeable and had a very deep knowledge of everything. I wanted to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, rhinos etc but never thought that i would be able to see them so closely. Kikwetu cultural adventures team was very friendly and understanding, they were always ready to answer our questions.

Unexpectedly wonderful experience
The 7 day Kenyan tour we went for was lovely. Everything went smoothly from the beginning to the end. Our accommodation was unexpectedly lovely. Everything from the food to the rooms was wonderful. Our guide Chris is a really charming guy and loves cracking jokes to make the long rides less painful! He tried his best to find us animals on the game drives and the best positions to take pictures!

Communications were excellent. Kikwetu provide all the information we needed. Service was above expectations. Nothing left to chance. Our safari guide, Peter, was so knowledgeable about the wildlife and you could not ask for a more cautious and courteous driver. He actually helped, on 2 occasions, to assist other drivers who had gotten stuck in mud. Jacob, our cook, provided excellent meals for us. Simply but tasty. This Masai Mara tour was a dream come true thanks to the caring staff of Kikwetu whom I will definitely be referring my friends and inquirers.

Our safari in Kenya was such a success, thanks to Kikwetu Cultural Adventures for putting it up in a wonderful manner. Kikwetu Tours, Of the bottom of my heart I am thanking you Kenneth for this tour.... I came on this tour without expectations and everything was better than I could ever imagined. I felt that I really really got what I paid for. I am a solo traveler, and I.did this safari on a budget. So for.me it was very important to know all detailes of my tour. What was included, what was not, how much money for tipping, how much money for souvenirs and so on... Kenneth help me sooo good in setting up my budget for my tour. In Uganda, Augustine my driber and guide was amazing. Lots of information. Lots of fun. I totally recommemd this guy. I had e great time from day 1. I did not like the hotel in Kampala much but it was for 1 night. It was not the accomodation its self but the vibe actually. In Entebbe and Bwindi they were soooo nice. But still nothing to complain about. Kenya Today I cried like a left my home instead of going home.... Everything in Kenya was perfect. Mara was amazing And thank you for Efi, my driver, guide and friend. He was the best. I did not feel like a costumer but he made me feel like family. The accomodation were super nice and the staff was totally amazing. Kenya felt like home. I willl sooo comeback 2 Kenya Tanzania The accomodation in both Serengeti and Ngorongoro were super. The staff was very very nice 2 me. Mr Issack was nice and very helpfull. Everything was nice. He was very attentive I will always be gratefull for what you did for me. I have to go home now and save again. But I promise you to come back soon and hopefully you can help again with my trip... My friend and I planned our Kenyan safari for last month. We had no clue what to expect, so we searched online and read many reviews from different companies. We finally settled for Kikwetu cultural adventures. Ken organized a tour for us and tailor made it to what we were most comfortable with. We talked about our budgets and he helped make decisions that fit it. He replied all emails promptly. We had an amazing driver, Salim. He was very knowledgeable about the game parks and animals that we saw. He was always punctual, professional and respectful. He went out of the way to help us out. The safari was great, the only thing I would advice is if, you are doing a one day in Lk Naivasha enroute Maasai mara from Amboseli, you should probably choose to do the walk in Hells gate. we went a little further to Crate(something), the drive from Amboseli to Naivasha is quite far and well affected by traffic, so it wasn't idea to drive another hr to go walk in Crate, I would highly recommend the boat ride in Naivasha for bird lovers, we did it in the early morning before we left for Maasai Mara. it was the busiest time for birds and it was wonderful. We want to thank Ken and Salim for making this safari a beautiful experience for us. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Family magical moments
Kikwetu was incredible - they made us feel safe, lucky, special and gave us the most amazing moments of our lifes. Masagha (Livingstone) is someone that we feel like a fridnd today, as well as kenneth - is impossible dont feel the best for someone that care so good of me and my family. I’m working on coming back as soon as I can but only with kikwetu.
