We really enjoyed our tour with Madagascar Natural Tours. We spent about four weeks touring the island with Harilala. Many of roads are in poor condition but we were always advised ahead of the journey. The slow travel meant that we could see life happening in the towns and villages as we passed. Harilala is very knowledgeable about his country, the people and wild life. We learned a lot about culture and history from him. His choice and organisation of accommodation, route and sights was very good and met our expectations. He is also a pioneer in environmental restoration and protection and we have a lot of respect for him. We would be very happy to recommend him for your tour.

When traveling to Madagascar, it is important to enjoy the biodiversity of the environment without disturbing it. Harilala was able to convey the stories of the people who lived alongside the wonderful ecosystems, cared for the lemurs and other biota, and understood the impact that tourism could have on their environment. Tourists brought needed income, but if the tourists impacted the biodiversity through touching or feeding any of the wildlife, the wildlife would disappear, and with that, the tourists would no longer come. So protecting the lemurs and their natural habitat was of paramount importance for the sustainability of the enterprise. Knowing how fragile the ecosystems were helped us, as tourists, to respect the boundaries around our behavior, and enjoy the experience as precious and wild. Harilala was also knowledgeable about village crafts and culture, which brought a richness to our understanding of life in Madagascar. Everyone should visit Madagascar! But all of us need to leave Madagascar with a keen understanding of the uniqueness of the space, and a sense of the importance of the biodiversity there. I am already planning to go back to Madagascar, but to explore the northern part of the country, and to experience the growing of vanilla. I will be using Harilala to guide me to experience the best that Madagascar has to offer in an environmentally sensitive tour, while getting to know the wonderful people who call Madagascar their home.

Incredible

We entrusted Harilala with our Madagascar tour, explaining what we wanted to see and visit. What can I say? He exceeded our expectations! Besides the wonderful tour, Solo and Fidele, our tour leaders, made the difference. We spent 20 days in Madagascar, and they flew by; everything was fantastic. We'll definitely be back to see the southernmost part of the country.

Easy and safe way to travel

Our experience with the conpany was very positive. They arranged custom tour for us in very short time frame and everything went smoothly. Our driver took very good care of us and drove us safely around Madagascar even though the roads are not in very good condition. They have english speaking drivers for those whi don't speak french. Owner of the company is very active on whatsapp and Facebook, so it is veey easy to get information about tours. Would recommend.

Faultless attention to every detail of our requests.

Madagascar Natural Tours customised a special tour of their amazing island, providing helpful guides, all the experiences we requested, excellent communication and attention to every detail. In every circumstance (some of which were altered because of bad weather), they organised perfect alternatives so we completed all the activities and saw all the destinations. The cost seemed reasonable although it was irrelevant by the end of the tour. It was worth whatever the cost. We 3 adults recommend this company unreservedly.

Amazing tour - trip of a lifetime!

We have recently finished a 10 day tour of Madagascar in April 2025 using the operator “Madagascar Natural Tours” from start to finish it almost felt too good to be true, I have never met any one else from Australia who has been to Madagascar so we were very hesitant in whether it would be safe and had no idea how to organise a holiday there or what to expect. Harilala was extremely professional and communicative the entire way and answered every single (too many) questions of ours and made us feel comfortable and excited. He planned our itinerary just perfectly we listed a couple of things we had wanted to see - baobab avenue, lemurs and Nosy Be. He organised our whole itinerary, accomodation and flights for us so that it flowed seamlessly. He provided options in accomodation as we were seeking honeymoon style resorts. The hotels that he booked were beautiful, clean, great food and lovely staff! We had a few internal flights in our itinerary and it was so nice stepping off the plane and trusting that there would be a guide there waiting for us to get us to our hotel. The few times during our stay we had a question regarding our tour, Harilala would reply to our messages almost immediately and paid very careful attention to ensure we were happy and getting the most out of our tour. Using Madagascar Natural Tours took all stress out of the holiday / planning and allowed us to just show up and make memories of a lifetime! I would highly recommend this company to anybody curious to explore Madagascar! Particularly if you do not speak French, we struggled with the language barrier however all guides had amazing English which was such a relief. We can’t wait to come back in a few years time!!

Outstanding & flexible support - before and during our trip

From initial communications, through itinerary changes to accommodate flights and interests, Harilala provided prompt, excellent service. Throughout the trip, the main and local guides had fantastic personalities and were excellent when managing rough roads and helping with challenging climbs. Pricing was very good value for what we received in both support and experiences. Madagascar is challenging but amazing and incredibly rewarding. And, don't miss the opportunity to eat at the Mad Zebu. Great food, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. I can't recommend Harilala and his team at Madagascar Natural Tours enough.

Excellent and comprehensive service

We spent 2 weeks in Madagascar on a private tour. The drivers and guides were knowledgeable and articulate. The hotels chosen were top notch. Harilala met us at the airport and again between domestic flights. The price was very reasonable. Go for the best hotels, and use flights as much as possible as the roads are terrible, and bring good binoculars The rangers at the parks are well prepared to show where the lemurs are but they are high up in the trees

I just finished the 17-DAY MADAGASCAR NORTH & SOUTH WILDLIFE & CULTURE EXPLORATION tour with Madagascar Natural Tours. Thanks to Harilala, Lucas and all of our other drivers and guides along the way, I had an amazing and memorable experience. Harilala was very helpful and accommodating from the start. He was able to put together an itinerary that was everything I wanted and more. He is very knowledgeable, organized, trustworthy and he communicated well from the very beginning. An incredible breadth of knowledge!

Harilala, a native Malagasy, knows his country. History, fauna, resources, animals and the people. Our trip was amazing on so many counts: the beauty of the people and the land. We bombarded Harilala with questions about every aspect of life for his fellow Malagasy, and he shared such amazing information. We chose Madagascar Natural Tours for our 18 day trip From start to end , we had a great time , we felt very at ease and taken care of. I wouldn't say our trip was relaxing , we chose quite a heavy itinerary but the hotels chosen for us were superb! The high light for us was the Island of Sainte Marie - don't miss this !

Two wildlife trips in Northern Madagascar

We arrived first for a day in Noisy Be and we're met at the dock straight off our cruise ship. The car was modern and in good condition and our driver was careful. Our guide Christian spoke good English and both Christian and our driver Jake new the wildlife and what we wanted to see. Arriving at our destination we walked through mangrove and across beach to Lokobe Reserve. All the way wildlife was picked out for us by our guides. We saw rare and endemic birds, Lemurs and several species of Chameleon and other reptiles. Great trip and delivered back to the port in time. Thanks. The next trip was from Antiserenana to Amber Mountains NP. This matched up to the previous trip and this firm would be recomended.

Great Tour Despite a few Hicoughs

Did a 15 day Safari Madagascar Birding & Wildlife Tour (in reverse from the advertised), which was excellent. I'd say that the mark of a good tour operator is a getting things right and when they don't, having suitable backup. So when our car gave up, they got another one in to get us to our destination and found alternatives for the couple of days in Ranomafana. The final day though ended up with our first driver and car, which wasn't so great for travelling along Madagascar's poor roads. A good 4x4 would have been a lot better. The tour itself was superb, great wildlife, stuning scenery, good guides working hard to find the best of the wildlife in the jungle and rain forrest. Would throughly recommend.

A professional approach to nature tourism

We (my husband and I) were the most satisfied with Harilala and his team. We received all necessary information before our arrival, and Harilala met us personally at the airport. All transportation services and our schedule were arranged in advance so we do not need to waste any time. We especially love the accommodation that Harilala selected for us - very charming places and a good value for money. All specialty guide were extremely knowledgeable, and as a result we learn a ton about the fauna and flora of Madagascar.

Harilala made a special week for us in Madagascar and was even after our tour still in contact with as we had some questions not about the tour, but the country. he always answered fast and it was handeled easy over whatsapp. we had some issues as the political situation was not so good, but he changed hotels and kept us safe all the time. we really recommend booking with natural tours, was great! thank you Harilala!
