Perfect trip

The team is very professional. We manneged to spot all animals thanks to Ryan an Lumi. They picked us up and drop us off at the airport on time and always on a good mood. They cooked for us delicious local food and wine. Besides the day we had pasta salad, everything was tasty. Highly recommend!

Great experiences with lots of memories.

We had plenty of questions before we even started with this safari tour and got a lot of help in advance as it was our first safari. The itinerary was extremely well organised by Wild Planet Safari. They followed closely the described schedule. We did not miss anything and were very satisfied with all the different kind of animals we spotted. We had comfortable resorts and enjoyed the self prepared cooking and even got the "ordered" red wine for dinner. As well we had very interesting conversations with our guide, not only about wild animals but also about South Africa, their people and politics, etc..

Amazing Kruger camping safari

We had the best 6 day safari with our guide Eric. We chose tent camping (including 1 night Blyde River Canyon for panorama route, and 1 night rustic bird hide) and it was great. The tents and camp beds are comfortable, and campground amenities are good. Eric is a fantastic guide - knowledgeable about the wildlife (and history & culture), a great campground chef, and just fun to hang out with. We saw all the big 5 plus so much more, even a rare wild dog! I’m very happy with the private tour we booked with Wild Planet Safari, definitely recommend them, we can’t wait to return to Kruger.

Better than we ever expected

Our guides Chris and Goodwill gave us the experience of a lifetime! We saw an amazing variety of animals in awe inspiring numbers thanks to their excellent spotting. Chris never seemed to run out of new information about what we were seeing. I have never eaten so much excellent food. I had high hopes for my dream trip to Africa, and this trip far exceeded my wildest dreams. Extra points to Chis and Goodwill for treating our rowdy group of 6 women like queens all week long.

We LOVED our experience with Wild Planet Safari. The tour guide was incredibly trustworthy, friendly, and so knowledgable! He searched passionately for all of the different (and spectacular) species in the park. Because of his knowledge of tracking and species behavior, we found and saw things that none of the other visitors we spoke to had seen. It was an epic adventure! They also provided good, wholesome food, and thoughtful attention to detail. It was awesome! In addition, the administrator was helpful with every aspect of planning. When we had a hiccup in our flight plans, she even helped us secure a refund for our hotel!

Experience of a lifetime

That was Amazing! Many thanks to you Wild Planet Safari, Thale, our great Chef and our great guide Chris. We had a great 4-day tour. Without our guide, we would never have seen all the big 5 and we were so lucky that we were even able to see the ugly 5 several times. We felt safe and in good hands at all times. However, we did notice that no direct attention was paid to our eating habits, which we had previously indicated. It would have been great if there had been more focus on this. But overall, we highly recommend the tour! We will remember this tour forever.

Amazing adventure in Kruger NP! Big 5 and then some!

We just returned from an unforgettable six-day safari—what an adventure! 🦁🌿 From day one, our family was mesmerized by breathtaking landscapes and incredible wildlife, all brought to life by our phenomenal guide, Rafel. His sharp eye and infectious enthusiasm made every game drive feel like a thrilling treasure hunt, from spotting elusive leopards to witnessing lions on the prowl. Back at camp, Chef Hope spoiled us with mouthwatering meals that were just as spectacular as the wildlife. His quick mastery in the kitchen turned each dinner into a feast fit for royalty—his perfectly spiced lamb and "Bush Lasagna" with a Dorito topping were both absolute highlights! If you're looking for an extraordinary safari filled with awe-inspiring wildlife and unforgettable dining, this is it! Huge thanks to Rafel and Hope for making this journey one for the books. Can't wait to return to Africa and book with this incredible team again! 📸✨

They were amazing! Everything went well

Wild planet was excellent! Thale had a lot of patience to answer all my doubts. Ruan was an excellent guide. Great person. Benjamin cooks very well! I figured the safari would be in an open vehicle, and it would probably be best to view the animals, but we managed to see many! The grass was high, which made it difficult to see it as well. But we got to see the Big Five. 2 lions from afar. I thought we'd see more. But many Elephants, which surprised me. The night drive was amazing! We saw hyenas from VERY close.Totally different from the daytime sarafi. We stayed in Skukuza. Next time I'll stay in Satara for about 4 or 5 days to enjoy it more and see more cats.

Basic safari billed as luxury, disappointing

Ryan is knowledgable and enthusiastic but customer service is not his strong point, it felt almost like we were following him around on his safari. Despite being billed as a luxury safari the food and accomodation were basic at best. For some reason he asked us in advance for our preferences for food, wines and spirits but then completely ignored what we had asked for. He only supplied one bottle of cheap wine which he shared with us so I ended up buying him more drinks than he provided. I would happily have paid more for the luxury touches I had specifically asked him for but he seemed not to have read my emails - he initially turned up at the wrong airport terminal.

Excelent safariexperience and well planned roundtrip with Wild Planet Safari.

We were two families, four adults, four youths, travelling with Wild Planet Safari 14 days in Eastern South Africa. First time in SA, first time on safari, so we were curious in what to expect. We had a fantastic tour with Thale and Ryan, a tour showing us much of the variety in this huge country. When we look back, the most fascinating part was at the start, in Kruger, where we camped at Skukuza. We went for both early morning drives, starting at daybreak, and afternoon trips. We saw all possible animals to see out there, including big five, like lions with fresh catch (buffalo). It was good to have Ryan there, spotting animals from long distance, hiding in the vegetation. If Ryan didn’t spot animals, well, then there where none there. After Kruger we went to Royal Hlane in Swaziland. This park was less impressive than Kruger, but as the camp was situated near a waterhole, we had good view of animals like rhinos, elephants and impala. Besides knowing everything about wildlife and nature, Ryan has very good knowledge for history, culture and sociallife of the areas visited, information shared with us, broadening our minds and giving another dimension to this wonderful experience. Let me also mention the delicious food prepared by Thale and Ryan – most nights prepared on open fire outside. Very good meat served with different vegetables, meat and vegetables many of them new to us. One thing to remember for those of you traveling this time of year, July/August; Bring warm clothes. Fortunately Wild Planet Safari did supply us with blankets while traveling the open safarivehicle early mornings. We also visited St Lucia for hippos and crocs, the Durban area for some relaxation, and had a good stay in Drakensberg with two good hikes. The best part of the trip, very well organized by the guys at Wild Planet Safari, was Kruger – spend some days there !

Great times with Wild planet safari

It was very good!! The guys who had the safari really cared about what we wanted to do and listened to us. They showed us a lot of cool stuff and we saw a lot of animals! they also knew very much about the animals and also a lot of the trees and other stuff in the nature. Loved the food we had every night and had some cool nights beside the bonfire. Really recommend this company!!!

Great 3-day tour with Chris

We had a great 3-day safari with Chris and Benjamin as our guides. We were glad to have a guide, because he was able to spot more animals than we did. Chris told us a lot about the trees and birds as well. The tour started when we left at Johannesburg. Chris showed enthousiasm and knowledge. On the second day we saw 17 rhino's before breakfast! Benjamin was a good cook.

Very enjoy the safari tour

Chris was the tour guide, he is a very nice guy and very professional. He can see animals in a very long distance with his own eyes, he knows where to find the animals in the Kruger national park, whatever they are 'big five', 'small five', 'ugly five' or others. We did really enjoy our safari tour under his guidance. Benjamin was our cooker, we loved his cooking. How can a good safari tour without delicious foods, Benjamin amazingly did his job, and he also helped us to find more animals with his sharp eyes. Overall, the safari experience was great, highly recommend it to all of you.

Great private camping safari experience

From the consultation to the booking to the execution everything was uncomplicated and familiar. Our guides Chris and Kerry made our family camp safari (2 adults, 1 child, 11 years) through the Kruger a real experience. We saw lots of wildlife and Chris spoiled us with great culinary. The facilities were fit for purpose and we enjoyed the adventure all around. Thanks also to Thale who answered all my questions with great patience.

Experience of a lifetime

Just wow, thank you Wild Planet Safari, Thale, Ryan and our amazing guide Raf. We were a party of three who booked a Private seven night safari, this trip far exceeded our expectations and we can't recommend the experience enough. From the first moment of enquiry with Thale to the final drop off by Raf, Wild Planet displayed fantastic customer service and attention to detail. Raf was a superb guide, cook and all round great guy, working tirelessly to ensure we had the best experience, he would find the wildlife with great expertise, ensure we were in prime position to observe all of the amazing animals, drove us to so many incredible sightings and beautiful locations. After a day of driving us around Raf would cook us the most amazing dinners which we enjoyed immensely as we all reminisced about the spectacular experiences of the day Our accommodation in all five places was spotless and very comfortable and the safari vehicle being open sided offered a very immersive safari experience. We saw an incredible number of animals and we were in awe of so many amazing sights, its hard to do justice to what we saw in words so all we can do is strongly suggest, if you have the opportunity to visit South Africa, you do so with a tour with Wild Planet Safari, they will give you a spectacular experience that will stay with you forever. Small operation with knowledgable guides and comfortable arrangements!

Chris, our guide from Zimbabwe, was very knowledgable and eager to show us the best that Kruger has to offer taking us to different parts of the park to try to catch a diversity of animals. He was patient and easy to connect with. Being a private tour, we were happy to be able to have the freedom to stop and continue on as our schedule allowed and it allowed us to find what we were most interested in. We saw 4 of the Big 5 on our 3-day tour which is really 2 days with the transfers from Joburg taking half a day each way. We didn't realize that the driver and guide were one and the same person but this seemed to be the norm at Kruger. Our chef was lovely and made delicious foods but we would have appreciated being given different options beforehand to select our menu from. Thale from the head office was not very responsive regarding the booking after the initial engagements were made. He doesn't seem to be on the ground with his guides and so may be a bit out of touch with the goings on.

Super lekker tour!

Are you unsure which safari tour to book (like we were)? Go for Wild Planet Safari! For four days, we travelled with Chris, Kagiso, and Ryan, who are outstanding guides, hosts, and cooks. They are deeply passionate about Kruger, respectful of all the animals (and our vegetarianism), and captivating story-tellers. In short: it was a super lekker experience!

An unforgettable journey of a lifetime, a "must do" for everybody

It was so easy to book our trip (for my daughter and myself) with Wild Planet Safari. Everything was done online with Thale whose service and communications were excellent. Our guides Chris and Lungisani were friendly and courteous and great "spotters" of the wildlife which we saw in abundance. We were so lucky to see a pack of 12 wild dogs together, in addition to a group of six cheetahs in one sighting. We saw the big five plus more and were rewarded during our bush walk with a sighting of a pride of lions with cubs. It's difficult to mention a highlight of the tour, there were so many! I'll be back!
