The Okavango Delta is home to abundant wildlife including elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, hippos, and numerous antelope species. You'll also encounter exceptional bird diversity with over 400 bird species recorded in the region. Game drives and water safaris maximize your chances of wildlife encounters throughout your 3-day experience.
The package includes expertly guided game drives, water-based safari excursions, comfortable lodge accommodation for 3 days, and the services of experienced naturalist guides. All wildlife viewing activities and transportation within the Delta are covered. Specific meal inclusions and optional activities should be confirmed directly with Regal Roams Africa.
The Okavango Delta offers excellent wildlife viewing year-round, but peak seasons are May to September (dry season) when water levels are high and wildlife congregates around water sources, and November to March (green season) when vegetation is lush and bird watching is exceptional. Each season offers unique advantages for different wildlife viewing experiences.
The safari is conducted with professional guides and established safety protocols. Standard travel health precautions include malaria prophylaxis (consult your doctor), vaccinations, and travel insurance. Lodges maintain high safety standards, and guides are trained in wildlife safety. Always follow guide instructions during game drives and water excursions for optimal safety.
Pack neutral-colored clothing for game drives, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), binoculars for wildlife viewing, and a camera with extra batteries. Bring layers for temperature variations between day and night. Insect repellent is essential. Check with your lodge regarding specific amenities to determine what toiletries to bring.
Most travelers fly into Maun, Botswana's main gateway to the Okavango Delta. From there, charter flights or road transfers take you to your lodge within the Delta. Regal Roams Africa can arrange transfers and provide detailed logistics information. International flights to Botswana typically connect through major African hubs or international carriers.
