Armaye and Kumfir did everything to make my tour a wonderful and memorable experience and they succeeded. There was a lot of travelling involved and the standard of driving and care was exceptional. They realised that the most important thing for me was seeing the wildlife and they made sure we saw all that we could - they loved the animals too so I felt part of a team looking for all that we could find. An amazing search for the Ethiopian wolf

Last week I went with Armaye to look for the Ethiopian wolf in Bale Mountains. It was a great trip through a beautiful and rugged landscape. Armaye had arranged everything fantastically: a beautiful route, good food, and, if you need it, all the camping gear. Armaye is clearly passionate about what he does. He knows a lot about all the animals in the park and loves being out there. It was a great pleasure to go on this trip with him and I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to go on a little adventure in Bale (or anywhere else in Ethiopia). And yes, we found the wolf!

A wonderful two week trip to Ethiopia

We had the Ethniopian Mammal Watching tour for 14 days; the initially 12-day program itself was adjusted and extended by two days. Armaye knows the nature of Ethiopia and its inhabitants very well. Since we were focused on locating and photographing animals, he fully supported us in this task and gave us great assistance in identifying those species with which we had questions. It was very interesting to discuss the animals of Ethiopia with him! It’s great that he implemented his area of interest and knowledge into his own business. All Armaye team members are friendly and responsible, you can absolutly trust them. The nature of Ethiopia is very different depending on the parts of the country and is very beautiful and even fantastic. We also got to know the local cuisine and its specialties. We will miss the time spent and the company of our new friends on this trip. But I think we will be back in the future! If you are planning to travel to Ethiopia, I would recommend traveling with Armaye Ethiopia Tours.

We've spent 2 weeks in Ethiopia visiting the Omo Valley tribes and hiking in the amazing Bale mountains. Armaye organised everything for us with a great and flexible service. We had the fortune to participate in a Bull Jumping ceremony at the Hammer Tribe and to see the rare Ethiopian wolves. Great 3-Day Bale Mountain Tour!

We had a last minute change of plans for our trip to Ethiopia and stumbled upon Armaye's tours in the Bale Mountains in a frantic search for an alternative destination. He had excellent reviews so we reached out to him about a 3 day tour of the Bale Mountains. He was very responsive to our questions and flexible with our timeframe. Armaye and his team were incredibly knowledgeable about Bale Mountain's history, plants, animals and people and spoke great English. They were unbelievably patient with our (tons of) questions and intuitive about places where we would want to linger or stop and take photos of the sights or animals. If you are visiting Ethiopia and want to have an outstanding nature and cultural experience, we highly recommend Armaye and his team!

Amazing experience

Since booking Armaye was in constant contact with me updating me on anychanges and promptly answered all my questions! Awol was my guide for the tour to Bale Mountains for two day, he's an amazing guy and him and the driver were amazing wildlife spotters! I got to see all of the animals I wanted including 10+ wolves, hundreds of Mountain Nyalas, three troops of colobus and two troops of bale monkey, giant mole rats, feedbacks buskhbucks so many endemic birds and including the elusive giant forest big in harenna forest! And also some a.azing cultural experience twith the locals I had the best time ever and I cant recommend Armaye and his team enough! They have been absolute professionals, fun and most of all good friends after I had some incident in Kenya the previous week

Armaye tours were courteous, prompt, flexible and knowledgeable in their correspondence from the first contact. It was simple to put together the tour with their help They remained in touch until I arrived and was picked up from the airport. The tour team consisted of Awol, guide - who was respectful, caring, hugely knowledgeable about the area, the fauna and flora and Ethiopia. And his eagle eyes were superb pointing out so much as we walked along. A true diamond Idris our chef produced hot home cooked food throughout the tour and I remain amazed at what can be produced on a single burner!! Our porters were polite, cheerful, organised and so efficient. I was a single white older female and I never felt uncomfortable once Armaye is a well run, locally respectful tour company and I would recommend them without hesitation. You won't be disappointed

We booked the 17 Days Wildlife Safari Tour with Armaye being our main interest the photography of wild life. The offered tour was a perfect match to our needs. From the very beginning, Armaye provided a lot of information, the communication was fluid all the time, he showed also flexibility to adjust details of the itinerary, giving us a high level a confidence with his knowledge and professionalism. Upon arrival at Addis Ababa Airport, everything run smoothly and attached to the planned schedule. Armaye is a great guide and companion for this kind of challenging safaris, where long distances must to be covered different transports and the visits to remote areas of the National Parks are a must to spot the targeted animals. Our high expectations were surpassed!! The two drivers were great, at Simien Montains National Park, he was an expert animal spotter too. All the local guides, in all places where needed, were very good. At the National Parks, the expert eye of Armaye was invaluable, also his sense of photographer, we enjoyed every minute spent with Armaye. Regarding the tour organization, it was perfect, and Armaye was all the time checking our particular needs and taking care constantly about them, even talking to the restaurant chefs to adjust the menus for us!. We think we covered a big part of the most relevant National Parks to spot endemic animals, like Simien and Bale Mountains as the most impressive of them. The long list of mammals to spot were checked and most of the relevant birds too!! In Harar we experienced the early night session with the Hyena men, unbelievable! The hotels booked had some up and downs but understanding that we were visiting some remote areas with a limited tourism developing, we were overall satisfied, all them were clean and with comfortable beds. Special remarks to Simien Lodge, Haile Resort Awassa and, on top of all them, Doho Lodge, an amazing place. As a conclusion, the safari tour focus was great, the organization perfect and the value for money more than reasonable. Armaye is an excellent guide and organizer, but even more important he is a great guy! My recommendation, if somebody wants to visit Ethiopia, is booking the trip with Armaye Tours, with no doubt!

We spent an unforgettable 14 days travelling to the south of Ethiopia on a trip organized by Armayer. Before arriving in Ethiopia, we received a complete set of information, advices and answers to the questions asked, so the only thing left to do was to pack up and go for the adventure. The travel plan was prepared in such a way that it was possible to admire this unique and interesting country without haste. Armaye put us in the hands of an exceptional guide / driver Kinfe, who made sure that the trip was comfortable and safe. We did the full program planned and the service was on the highest level. We could admire both the life of the Ethiopians and the wild nature that surrounded us. The cherry on the cake were the last two days in Bale Mountains, where Armayer took over the role of a guide. There we had the opportunity to watch a lot of birds and mammals, including Ethiopian Wolves. After the holidays, we were left with great photos, many wonderful memories and a desire to return To Ethiopia again. Armaye Ethiopia Tours - Above and beyond all expectations!

Armaye was recommended by good friends when we were planning a trip to Ethiopia, and I would recommend his company to anyone interested in an independent tour of this very beautiful country. From first contact we found Armaye exceptionally professional, his knowledge and advice to be immensely helpful, and as soon as we met at the airport - with the wonderful Kinfe - our driver for the trip, we knew we were with friends. Seeing Ethiopia through their eyes, guiding us throughout with enthusiasm and humour, really made our visit so very special. Along the way we were introduced to local guides and leaders and enjoyed many adventures - taking time on Lake Tana visiting the monasteries, seeing hippos bathing! Walking in the Simien mountains with some truly amazing views and time spent watching Gelada monkeys. Castles in Gondar; the holy city of Axum and it’s magnificent stelae, taking part in the Mehelela procession by candlelight before dawn was so very well worth the early start, an experience that will remain in my memory forevermore. On to the rock churches in the Gheralta mountains and Lalibela, with an overnight stay camping near the Danakil depression. Just incredible, highlight after highlight, and throughout we were looked after like family by Armaye and Kinfe. Thank you both for everything you did for us, you remain affectionately in my heart and I do hope that one day we will be able to return and visit again with you.
