A well-prepared and knowledgeable tour guide with an excellent driver

We took part in a tour where our tour guide was like as David Attenborough from the BBC channel in personality. He was at home in all areas, even on the night safari he told us the zodiac signs and showed us the stars of the southern hemisphere. We have been in contact with him ever since, because a good friendship developed between us.

Great team, incredible adventure.

Our 3-Day Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Manyara was amazing, a life- changing experience. Tanzania is magical, with great parks to vizit numerous wildlife. We saw: lions, elephant, zebras, giraffe, buffalos, wildebeest, hippos, a lot of beautiful birds. Our safari guide was extraordinary, he knew so much about the local wildlife and had some fascinating stories. I recommend Nkollo Tours & Safaris, for a fascinating adventure.

Great experience

We had a 4 days safari tour. It included the Tarangire, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. The booking was easy and you can easily do changes before the tour. Our tour guide Emma was very kind. He showed us everything and if we saw something no matter it was, we stopped and had time to look around. We had together a good communication and he gave us the opportunities to make small changes every day about time or things we wanted to see. He was as well very punctual. We not. So, he waited a lot because of us. Everything was overall well organised. The food, the hotel and the camping ground were every day excellent. We can definitely recommend to book a safari tour here especially with Emma. He was a great guide.

We booked a 4-day safari with Nkollo and everything worked perfectly, from the organization to the experience on site. Our guide Ringo was always punctual, attentive, and very considerate of our needs. He managed our time between the three national parks in an excellent way, making sure we could enjoy every moment to the fullest. What a great service!

I traveled many years and booked many tours in different countries. When a booked my safari tour last minut I was very surprised by the flexibility and possibilities they gave me. They really helped me creating a tour fitting my travel plan. Last week, we were fortunate enough to visit one of the most beautiful places on Earth. During a four-day tour, we explored the Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro. It has always been a dream of mine to visit the Serengeti and experience its phenomenal flora and fauna firsthand. That dream finally came true, and it exceeded all my expectations, largely thanks to our amazing guide, Mr. Ringo. From the start, Ringo told us his goal was to keep a smile on our faces at all times, and he certainly succeeded! His knowledge of Tanzania’s wildlife, environment, and culture is great, and he was incredibly flexible in tailoring the trip to our preferences. We saw everything we hoped for and more. Ringo even went the extra mile by providing thoughtful touches like cold beverages and a JBL speaker. These were four days I will never forget. I’ll see you again soon, Mr. Ringo, when I return to Tanzania for school!

Awesome experience

Awesome experience with Nkollo tours and Derick as our tour guide. Me and my family had a 4 days safari with Nkollo tours last week and everything was perfect. The highlight of the tour was our guide Derick, during the 2 days of safari in Nautu region he showed us all the possible big cats and animals. It was impressive to see leopards, cheetahs with cubs, lions and hunting scenes in few hours in the park. Everything was organized at the perfection and with high professionalism with high level lodges, I suggest to choose this local company for your vacation and ask for Derick as your guide.

I don’t even know where to begin! Allan is the perfect tour operator, quick, effective and informative information always available (I’m a type A planner!). Any and all enquiries I had were responded to promptly. Allan’s recommendations for the tour and accommodations were PERFECT! Allan went the extra mile to meet us prior to our safari, check in with us during and was always available, and also met us after for a debrief to check how our experience was. Lunches were excellent with wine, beer and soft drinks provided, in the most beautiful locations! Our driver Francis was the best, the friendliest, most upbeat guy who instantly makes you feel at ease. He worked tirelessly to ensure we saw the best (we saw everything even the elusive leopard!). Francis is so knowledgeable and respectful about, and for, Serengeti and Ngorongoro, the animals and the people that live there. It was my birthday whilst there and together Francis and Allan liaised with the safari lodge to organise a birthday cake and decorations for me! The whole trip felt so personal and special thanks to the people at Nkollo and I will never forget it. We will be back to Tanzania to see them again. Perfect, perfect, perfect trip.

Perfect tour guide JOEL is the best!

Best tour guide ever! Make sure you ask for JOEL. Very knowledgeable of Arusha, waterfalls, Kilimanjaro & thermal waters! Great personality. Started at 8 am. Ended at 7 pm. Full day but very worth it! The hike to see the waterfalls is so worth it. Just beautiful !!! See pics below.

Unforgettable experience

We had an unforgettable four-day safari through Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro with Nkollo Tours! Before the trip, we couldn’t have imagined how many animals and amazing places we would get to see. Our guide, Ringo, took really good care of us throughout the journey. Excellent, organized, and authentic - a wonderful safari experience!

Nkollo Tours organized an excellent and well-priced 5 day/ 4 night safari for our group of 8, including 6 adults and 2 children (ages 10 months and 3 years old). Communication was prompt and clear, and Allan made multiple quotes and changes to fit with our groups interests and needs. Car seats were provided, along with complimentary pre- and post- safari accommodations and airport transfers. Our driver Emmanual was fantastic. Not only was he a skilled and safe driver with multiple years of experience, but he had a kind and welcoming temperament that made us feel like family. He was also a wealth of information on all the animals we saw (including the Big 5) and the cultural and historical questions we had. He was also great with the kids and we never felt rushed, or pressured in anyway. We did do that add on Masaai boma visit, which unfortunately has very clearly been shaped by tourism with heavy pressure to buy souvenirs, so not sure we would do that part again, but outside of that we couldn't have asked for a better safari experience. Highly recommend Nkollo tours, Allan, and Emmanual to provide a personalized and exceptional safari experience and can vouch for their ability to accommodate small children.

The tour operator was very charismatic and had a very good sense of humor.

We can't really say how wonderful our trip with Nkollo Tours was. It was just perfect from start to finish! Allan, our guide, made sure everything was just right for us. He listened to what we wanted and made sure our safari was exactly what we hoped for. We felt really confident about the trip because of him. Being with our friends, we didn't have to worry about a thing because Nkollo Tours took care of everything for us. Our guide, Emmanuel, was incredible! He knew so much about the animals and he made every day of our safari amazing. He was so friendly and patient with us, and we had the best time spotting all the animals with him. Nkollo Tours made sure everything was perfect. They gave us great food and comfy places to stay, and Emmanuel showed us all the best parts of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Every moment was better than the last! The safari jeep provided by Nkollo Tours was excellent too. It was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, allowing us to enjoy the safari experience fully. We felt safe and secure throughout our journey, thanks to the reliable vehicle provided by Nkollo Tours. We're so grateful to Nkollo Tours, especially Emmanuel and Allan, for giving us such an incredible adventure. They made our safari better than we ever imagined. What an unforgettable experience! Our four-day safari through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater with Nkollo Tours exceeded every expectation we had and we can't recommend them highly enough. Amazing!

Me and my friend Siri travelled from Norway to come on safari. We were so happy with what we got! We got so much value for our money and got to see so many animals up close and personal! Example: lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, antilopes, gnues and many many more. It was truly incredible! But what we were the most happy about was our tour-guides! Franklin and Matoma was really kind to us, good in english and did everything they could to make the experience the best for us. Great Safari Experience with a Great Team

We had a fantastic time doing the 3-Day Nyerere NP Fly in/out Safari with Night Game Drive. Allan made the booking process very simple and communication in the build up to the safari was easy and all of our questions were answered promptly. We were picked up from our hotel in Zanzibar and then had a great flight in a small plane to the airstrip at Nyerere which meant we could begin our game drive right away. On the Safari itself, our tour guide David was brilliant, very friendly and knowledgeable and was great to chat with throughout the 3 days. David and the driver had a great eye for spotting animals and, being on a private tour, everything was done at a pace that suited us which we really enjoyed. Our driver was great at managing the conditions when there had been rain in order to get us to great spots for seeing animals. Throughout the tour Allan kept in touch to ensure that everything was going well. The night game drive was a real highlight on our safari tour. It allowed us to see many hippos wandering around out of the water, as well as elephants much closer than we would tend to see in the day. The staff at the lodge were very friendly, the accommodation is quite basic as you would expect but has everything you need. The food and drink offered throughout the tour was good quality and we were always well fed. It was just a great experience throughout and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Our 5-day safari with Nkollo Tours & Safaris through Tarangire, Southern Serengeti, and Ngorongoro was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we were picked up at Kilimanjaro airport everything was handled with professionalism and warmth. Our private driver/guide (Richard) was knowledgeable, patient, and had an incredible eye for spotting wildlife — he made sure we saw an amazing variety, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and herds of migrating wildebeest. The parks themselves were breathtaking, especially the wide open plains of the Serengeti and the dramatic crater landscapes. One moment we were watching newborn cheetahs wobble beside their mother; the next, our guide was quietly pointing out a lioness observing from a distance on the hunt. It was raw, real, and deeply humbling. The silence — broken only by distant animal calls — made everything feel sacred. The accommodations were comfortable and the meals were good throughout. One again A huge part of what made this trip exceptional was our private driver, Richard. His knowledge, patience, and ability to spot wildlife from impossible distances made every game drive exciting and meaningful. He truly elevated the experience. Not to forget the wonderful lunches he severed us daily.

Disappointing Experience with Nkollo Tours - Unfulfilled Promises and Poor Service

We had a deeply disappointing experience with Nkollo Tours during our private fly-in safari from Zanzibar to Selous, Tanzania. The communication was severely lacking, with multiple schedule changes not being communicated to us, resulting in significant delays and missed safari time. Our flight was rescheduled without prior notice, causing us to miss 2 hours of our first day’s safari. We only became aware of the rescheduling when we arrived at the airport, prepared to board our flight at 06:00, and were handed new tickets. Moreover, the flight we were placed on included a stopover, contrary to the direct flight that was promised to us. As a result, instead of arriving in Selous at 06:50 as initially planned, we did not reach our destination until 08:15. After contacting Nkollo Tours about this delay, we were promised compensation through extended safari hours, but this was not honoured. In subsequent correspondence regarding the flight rescheduling, they asserted that they are not responsible for the issue and advised us to contact the airline directly. However, it is standard practice that when a flight is rescheduled, passengers are rebooked on a comparable flight, not one that includes a stopover and is significantly less expensive. The second day was equally unsatisfactory. Our safari, originally scheduled to start at 07:00, was delayed by two hours without any communication, forcing us to wake up unnecessarily early (again!). The driver then proceeded to rush through the park at high speeds (60-80 km/hour), despite being informed of my mother’s back pain. This reckless driving led to a broken phone, a broken camera lens and injuries to my back and hip. We passed the elephants twice this day, yet the driver refused to stop for them, citing the need to be on time for lunch. Because the safari tour started two hours late, and the full itinerary was still followed, the driver maintained high speeds, which made it impossible for us to capture decent photos or to enjoy the safari experience properly. Lastly, if the driver did stop for us to look at the animals, a huge cloud of sand came up because he had to brake so hard for the car to stop. In subsequent correspondence, they claim that driving at such speeds would have caused the vehicle to break down. However, as someone who frequently drives, I observed that they were indeed driving at significantly high speeds, certainly not the 30 km/hour limit that is required within the park. They also claim they are not liable for any damages suffered, but I feel this is unjust, as these damages would not have occurred had they adhered to the appropriate speed limits. On the final day, our scheduled walking safari was also delayed, with no timely notice, leading us to cancel it altogether. We had asked the tour operator the day before if the start time could be pushed to 08:00, but were informed that if starting at this time, we would not be able to see any animals. We were therefore advised to begin at either 06:00 or 07:00. We agreed to a 07:00 start, but upon arriving in the dining room, we were informed by one of the employees of the lodge that our tour guide had notified them at 00:00 the evening before that our tour will start at 08:00. Given that we had to wake up 05:30, we were already in bed by this time, unaware of the change in schedule. Given the previous warning about the likelihood of not seeing animals, we cancelled the walking safari altogether. Although we received a $100 compensation for this, we were still extremely disappointed with the overall experience we had with Nkollo Tours. Additionally, the lodge’s pool was out of service, and we were not informed of this in advance, which diminished the value of our stay further. In conclusion, the experience was severely impacted by poor communication, lack of professionalism, and failure to deliver the promised service. We are seeking compensation for the missed safari hours, damaged property, and the subpar experience, but Nkollo Tours insists that the cost of the tour has increased, and therefore refuses to refund any portion of our payment, despite the numerous delays and damages we endured. The second day, they even bought us two bottles of liquor, which we interpreted as acknowledgement of their mistakes. However, they are now citing this gesture as a reason for refusing to refund any portion of our payment. We strongly advise other travellers to be cautious when considering Nkollo Tours for a private safari.
