Ingagi Park View Lodge

Ingagi Park View Lodge is located in Volcanoes National Park at Colline Nyarugina, Rwanda, approximately 2-3 hours by road from Kigali International Airport. The lodge sits at the base of the Virunga volcanic chain in northwestern Rwanda.

From Kigali International Airport, the lodge is accessible via a 2.5-3 hour road transfer. Airport transfers can be arranged through the booking platform. The drive follows the main highway toward Musanze (formerly Ruhengeri) and continues to Volcanoes National Park.

The dry seasons—June to August and January to February—offer optimal gorilla trekking conditions with stable weather and less muddy trails. However, gorilla trekking is available year-round. The wet seasons see fewer tourists and lush vegetation but require more challenging hiking conditions.

Ingagi Park View Lodge accommodates families, though gorilla trekking has age and fitness requirements. Children should be at least 12-15 years old and in good physical condition for trekking. The lodge's proximity to Volcanoes National Park makes it practical for family visits combining multiple activities.

The primary attraction is mountain gorillas—Volcanoes National Park protects approximately 480 individuals. Additional wildlife includes golden monkeys, various primate species, and over 178 bird species. The park does not feature Big Five animals; it specializes in primate and highland bird conservation.

Beyond gorilla trekking, visitors can participate in golden monkey trekking, volcano hiking on Mount Bisoke and Mount Karisimbi, bird watching, and cultural visits to local communities. These activities showcase Rwanda's biodiversity and cultural heritage.
