Best Safari Ever! We saw everything we had hoped to see and more.

My friend and I recently had the pleasure of going on our very first safari at Mikumi National Park, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we were picked up from our hotel on the morning of our trip, we felt extremely welcomed by the amazing team at Kihindo Tours and Safaris. Winnie, in particular, was so kind and attentive, ensuring that we felt comfortable and safe both to and from the adventure. Once in the park, we were lucky to have Jackson as our driver. His skill behind the wheel and deep passion for his job were truly admirable. He seemed to have a sixth sense for finding wildlife and making sure we had the best views possible. Our Maasai guide, Saloniki, added special touch to the trip. His energy and enthusiasm were absolutely infectious, making the whole experience feel even more vibrant and exciting. We had an absolute blast, and would highly recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris to anyone considering a safari in Tanzania. Whether it's your first time or you're a seasoned traveler, you won't be disappointed!

Excellent communication, organisation and guides.

I can throughly recommend Kihindo Tours for a safari in southern Tanzania. My guides were hardworking, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I travelled solo and always felt safe. Loved the great wildlife viewing. Visited Ruaha and Mikumi National Park -5 day trip. I was limited on time but probably would have done an extra day in Ruaha. There is a lot of traveling on this trip which was clearly stated in the detailed itinerary that I received upon booking. Accommodation was clean, comfortable but simple. Due to the busy days I didn’t spend much time in the accommodation. I very much enjoyed my time on this trip.

An unforgettable experience! The safari was incredibly well-organized, with stunning landscapes and amazing wildlife sightings. The drivers were punctual and professional. Our guide Danford was knowledgeable and made sure we were safe while still having fun. The staff at the hotel we stayed at were really nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a real adventure in nature!

Such a great professionnel agency

When we arrived we went to a Masaï village near to Mikumi Park, the best experience ever because i could feel the energy and the vibe of this community. Theses 2 next days we went to Mikumi Park and we saw lions, elephants, hippopotamus, zebras, impalas, gnous, buffaloes, giraffes, monkeys, foxes, crocodile, lézards, eagles, vultures and many others birds. We had a amazing guide ( Godfrey) and a great driver ( Willian), there were explaining everything the story and culture of the beautiful Park. I would like to thanks them to have be a part of this experience. I recommend this agency 100%.

Knowledgeable and friendly

Tour was great, we got to see all and more of the animals we wanted and enjoyed the company of Danford and Donald. Danford was very educative and took the time to drive around finding the fight spots while Donald helped spot the animals and kept us engaged. We enjoyed our time very much and highly recommend.

Incredible experience with the best guides

The tour was great. We were picked up at the appointed time from our hotel, accompanied by a guide and a driver. On the way we were chatting and it was very pleasant. It is true that the road is very long (from Dar Es Salaam to Mikumi Park was about 6 hours), but we stopped for lunch before arriving and there was no problem to stop at some point to stretch or go to the toilet. Once in the park we immediately started the game drive, to look for animals. The guide was telling us all about the animals we were finding, as well as about the park in general and the other parks in Tanzania. The driver knew the park well and took us around the area very well. Even at sunset they took us to see lions. The first night we slept in the park itself, in very well equipped huts. Dinner was also included. The next day we started the game drive very early (at 6:30 before breakfast) to see the animals waking up, which is when they are most active. We had breakfast and then we went around the park until noon. At the end of the tour we saw lionesses and their cubs, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, crocodiles and many birds. The second night we slept outside the park, in Camp Bastian, which is super nice, full of nature. We had dinner and early the next morning after breakfast, we returned with the guide and the driver back to Dar. The most incredible thing is that the road out of the park crosses the park, so we saw giraffes and elephants. Overall a very good tour, both the guide and the driver were super nice and pleasant, you could tell they knew the area and liked their job. It is true that it is a very short tour and at the end it gets tiring, but I recommend it if you don't have much time to go to the big parks in the north of the country.

It has truly been a dream come true. Stanford and Owen were incredible guides who made us feel at home from the very beginning. They were always kind and did everything they could to make sure we saw as much as possible. They shared many interesting facts and really made this experience even more special. We had a lovely time at our safari with Kihindo. We did a 3-day safari, and experienced a lot in just these 3 days. During the safari we saw a lot of animals, such as elephants, crocodiles, hippos, giraffes and even African wild dogs! Simply Amazing!

We booked a 4-day, 3-night safari to Mikumi National Park combined with a visit to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, and the entire experience was simply perfect from start to finish! The organisation by Pilly was outstanding – he was extremely responsive to all our questions and doubts, making the planning stress-free. The accommodations they arranged for us was amazing, and from the moment we landed until they brought us back to the airport, we felt completely taken care of. Our safari guides, Michael and Nuhu, were knowledgeable, friendly, and made every game drive truly memorable. Our taxi driver was always punctual, ensuring everything ran on schedule. The excursion to Udzungwa was a highlight – hiking to the stunning Sanja Waterfall was a wonderful experience we’ll never forget. Very well organized and pleasant tour

Our safari in Mikumi National Park with Danford and Donald was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, they made the experience seamless, fun, and full of unforgettable moments. Both were extremely knowledgeable about the park, wildlife behavior, and even the smaller details that made every sighting more meaningful. Donald’s sharp eye for spotting animals was amazing — we saw lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, and so many bird species we would’ve completely missed without him. Danford was an excellent driver and made sure we were always in the best position for photos while keeping things safe and comfortable throughout the journey.

Very competent, knowledgeable and kind!

We had the most amazing day with Kihindo Safaris in Mikumi National Park!! The communication was great with Winnie beforehand as she organised everything for us. They picked us up straight from our accommodation which was so easy and convenient! The train ride was also very smooth, but do remember to NOT bring any snacks or water with you, as they are not allowed on the train to Morogoro. We were then picked up by our guide for the day, Saloniki, by the train station. The drive was only about 1h50 to the park. When we got there we met our driver Jackson and started our game drive through the park. We got very lucky with all the animals that day, and part of that is because of both Saloniki and Jackson being amazing guides for us! Water, lunch (with soda) is included which was super nice. Couldn’t recommend more!!

Professional, funny and smart.

The tour was absolutely amazing mostly thank to our amazing guide Danford! The savannah was absolutely gorgeous and having Danfords helps understand how the nature and animals work together was beyond amazing.
